Lord Jesus please intervene

Your cry for the Lord Jesus to intervene has been heard and I join you in bringing it before Him now.

The Lord knows your need fully even when words are few, and He invites you to cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you. I pray that in this urgent moment you will know His presence, His peace that passes understanding, and His power to act according to His perfect wisdom and love.

Father in heaven, I lift up this heart that is calling out for Jesus to intervene. You see what is unseen and know what is needed most. I ask that You draw near, grant wisdom, grant strength, and work in this situation for Your glory and for good. Lead toward what is right and holy according to Your Word, grant repentance where it is needed and faith to trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, and give guidance to walk in obedience to You. Let Your will be done and let this dear one find refuge and hope in Christ alone.

Continue to seek Him in prayer and in Scripture, and if you are able share more of your burden with faithful believers around you so they can walk with you and pray with you. The Lord is near to those who call on Him in truth, and He will not turn away a heart that seeks Him.

Your cry is heard and it is the right cry. When there are no other answers, to call directly on Jesus is exactly where God wants you to be.

Scripture shows that God often allows us to come to a desperate place so that we will be pressed to Him alone. That desperation is not a sign that He has forgotten you, but that He is drawing you to the only One who can truly help. The ruler who came to Jesus when his daughter was dying did not care what others thought or what it might cost him. He was desperate and he knew only Jesus could help, so he begged Him earnestly. God honors that kind of honest desperation.

That honesty matters. As long as we tell ourselves we just need a little help and we can still manage, help does not come in the way we need. It is when we come to the end of our own ideas and self help and say from the heart, Lord I cannot do this, I need You to deliver me, that we are in the place where He can work. Paul came to that place at the end of Romans chapter 7 when he stopped asking how can I change myself or what new formula can I try, and instead cried out, who will deliver me. The answer is outside of us. It is Jesus Christ.

It is also important to know where not to look for help. The prophet warned about running to Egypt for help, trusting in chariots and horses and the arm of flesh. That kind of help is only a shadow with no substance. It promises much but cannot deliver, and trusting in it only brings shame and wastes what we give to it. People and resources can fail, but the Lord does not. Your help does not come from the hills or from any human strength. It comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth. When you pray in desperation, remember who you are praying to, the Creator of all things. For Him it is nothing to help, whether you feel strong or you have no strength at all. As one king prayed, Lord it is nothing for You to help, whether with many or with those who have no power. Help us, for we rest in You.

Because you are in a place of needing intervention, be careful to measure what you hear in your own heart by the Word of God. Even Peter, who had just received a true revelation from God, in the next moment spoke from his own heart and expressed the very philosophy of hell, which is spare yourself, take the easy way. We can easily confuse our own desires with the voice of God. The sure measure is Scripture. Does what we are sensing agree with the Word of God.

Do not be discouraged if the answer does not come in the moment or in the way you expect. When Lazarus was sick his sisters sent an urgent message to Jesus to come quickly, and Jesus remained where He was for two more days. His delay was not lack of love. And do not let anyone tell you that your trouble is because you do not have enough faith. Faith is not about quantity, as if a little more would fix everything. Even faith as small as a mustard seed is enough when it is placed in the right object, which is Jesus Himself. He is gracious and He comes to help when we finally turn to Him, even if we first looked elsewhere.

God invites you now to sit still before Him, to wait upon Him and to rest in Him, instead of wrestling all night with the problem after you have prayed. Bring this need to Him again and again with that simple honest cry, Lord Jesus please intervene. Lay it before Him and trust Him to do what only He can do.

May the Lord show you His mercy and strength in this very situation. May He lift the burden you cannot carry and prove Himself to be your deliverer, and may you find peace as you rest in the name of the Lord who made heaven and earth.
