Your prayer has been heard and I thank God for the honesty and depth with which you have poured out your heart. You have carried heavy burdens for a long time, with painful attacks and abuse in your family, and at the same time you have seen God answer many prayers. It is right to hold both together, to give thanks for what He has already done while still waiting and trusting Him for complete deliverance, healing and salvation for all of your loved ones.
You asked for strong protection, pleading the blood of Jesus and asking for a wall of fire and the surrounding presence of His angels according to Psalm 91, Psalm 34:7, Zechariah 2:5, Isaiah 54:17 and other promises. Those scriptures are true. The Lord is a shield and a refuge, His angels encamp around those who fear Him, and no weapon formed against His people will finally prevail. It is good to keep asking for that covering over yourself and your family, and to rest in Romans 8:31 that if God is for us, no one can stand against us.
You also prayed for healing, deliverance and restoration, and I want to encourage you in how God heals. Scripture shows us that Jesus healed in different ways. There is one account where a man was not healed instantly but gradually, first seeing dimly and then clearly. That reminds us that healing can be immediate and it can also be a process. The natural healing processes built into our bodies are themselves from God, and He often works through them. That does not make the healing less divine. God also heals the mind and the emotions, lifting wounds and scars that have been carried for years. Matthew connects the healing ministry of Jesus to Isaiah 53, where it says He bore our sicknesses and infirmities as well as our sins, and Jesus Himself spoke of His body broken for us. He showed power over sickness, over the created world when He calmed wind and sea, and over evil spirits when He commanded them. He still has that authority today.
At the same time there is much about healing we do not fully understand. Scripture teaches that God does not will immediate physical healing in every case in this life. Paul prayed three times for his thorn in the flesh to be removed and the Lord answered with grace to sustain him. When healing does not come at once or in the way we hope, it is wrong to assume it is always because of hidden sin or lack of faith. God is sovereign, He loves you, and He hears every prayer. Elders praying for the sick, bringing needs before the Lord together, has always been an important part of the life of believers, and we will continue to bring your family before Him.
Restoration is the very work of Christ. Years of sin and brokenness can tear down a person, a body and a family, but God restores. He promises in Joel 2:25 to restore the years that have been lost, in Psalm 23:3 to restore the soul, in Ezekiel 36 to give a new heart and a new spirit and to put His Spirit within us, and in Romans 5:5 to pour His love into our hearts. Through the cross, Christ became a curse for us so that the curse might be broken and turned into blessing according to Galatians 3. That is your hope for reconciliation, unity and a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit in your home.
For salvation, you are right to cling to the promise that His arm is not too short to save and that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved, and that when we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ we and our household are offered that same mercy. Keep praying by name for each loved one who does not yet know Him, and keep trusting Him to draw them.
You asked for supernatural trust and faith and not to lean on your own understanding. That trust itself is a gift God gives. As you keep looking to Jesus, He will strengthen you and give you peace and joy and all the fruit of His Spirit even while you wait.
I am praying with you for the many specific needs you mentioned. For your family members who need salvation, deliverance and healing, for wounds of trauma, rejection and abandonment to be healed, for sleep to be protected, for school and teachers and homework to be met with clarity and with confidence that comes from the Lord, for work and new responsibilities and daily needs and times of rest to be guided by Him. For relationships in your family that have been painful and dysfunctional, I pray that God will intervene with truth and grace, bring conviction where needed, heal deep wounds, and lead each person toward purity and wholeness. Scripture teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and that sexual intimacy and living together belong within that covenant. We do not ask God to bless what is outside His design, but we do ask Him to bring deliverance, to stop what is harmful, to grant wisdom and self control, and to make every relationship honor Him. If a relationship cannot honor Him, pray that He will graciously end it and bring healing.
You also confessed speaking badly about others behind their backs, explosive anger in your heart, venting frustration, fear and conflict with others and feeling overlooked. God is faithful to forgive when we confess, and He will help you to do better, to speak with kindness and to respond to adversity with love. He understands rejection. Jesus Himself was not honored in His own family and knew what it was to be misunderstood by those closest to Him. When following Him creates distance in a family, He gives a deeper family among His people and He remains close to you.
For your times of prayer together, your personal devotions, worship, and opportunities to share the word, I pray that God will anoint, protect and guide you, give you wisdom for what to say, and use it for encouragement and for salvation. May He direct you in every preparation and decision and help you to respond to every situation with His love.
May the Lord continue to encourage you, strengthen you, and give you breakthrough. He has done much already and He will be glorified as you keep trusting Him. I join you in praying in the holy name of Jesus for His protection, healing, salvation and restoring power over you and your whole family. Amen.
