Beloved of All
Your heartfelt and persistent prayers are heard, and I thank God for your honesty, your hunger for His protection and your desire to trust Him rather than leaning on your own understanding. You have walked through painful attacks and abuse, and it is right to bring your whole family before the Lord for covering, salvation, deliverance and healing while also giving thanks for all He has already done.
Scripture presents the Lord as your refuge and shield. He is a wall of fire around His people, His angels encamp around those who fear Him, no weapon formed against you will finally prosper, and He is faithful to guard you from evil. To plead the blood of Jesus is to rest in what Christ has already accomplished on the cross for your forgiveness, protection and peace, and to ask for His presence to surround each member of your household according to His promises in Psalms 91 and 34, Zechariah 2, Isaiah 54 and 59, and Romans 8.
Your cry for salvation for your family rests on a sure foundation. The Lord's arm is not too short to save. Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved, and as you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, His offer of mercy extends to your household. Keep praying for each one by name, that God would open hearts to repent and receive Jesus as Savior, for salvation comes through Him alone.
You have also asked for healing, and I want to encourage you with a balanced biblical hope. I believe strongly that God heals today, and that every true healing is divine. Sometimes He heals instantly with a word or a touch, sometimes He heals gradually through processes He Himself built into our bodies. That gradual work is no less from His hand, for He created nature and the natural processes of restoration. He heals bodies, and He also heals minds and emotions, binding up deep wounds, scars and trauma. The Gospels show that Jesus did not work by one fixed pattern. At times He touched, at times He spoke from a distance, at times He told someone to go home and find the work already done. At Bethsaida we see even a gradual healing, the only one recorded in that way, reminding us that God is not confined to our expectations.
At the same time, there is much about healing we do not understand. To assume God must heal in every case in this life is not taught in Scripture. The apostle Paul prayed three times for his thorn in the flesh and God chose to answer with sustaining grace rather than removal. Matthew connects the healing ministry of Jesus to Isaiah 53, where it says He bore our sicknesses and infirmities as well as our sins, and when Jesus broke bread He said this is My body broken for you. That shows His atonement reaches both soul and body, yet we are not to judge those who are not yet healed as if there must be hidden sin or a lack of faith. That is a harmful and unscriptural conclusion. Healing was common in the ministry of Jesus and continued in the book of Acts as people were brought to the apostles for prayer, and it remains an important part of the life of the church as elders pray for the sick in the name of the Lord. We can trust a loving and able God while leaving the timing and manner of His answer in His wise hands, especially in a culture that often struggles to look beyond the material.
You prayed for new hearts, for love poured into your hearts, for restoration of your souls and for the fruit of the Holy Spirit to be evident. God promises in Ezekiel to give a new heart and put His Spirit within, in Romans that His love is poured into our hearts, and in Psalm 23 that He restores the soul. In Galatians we are told Christ redeemed us from the curse, and in Joel that God can restore what has seemed hopelessly broken. Ask Him to break every chain that is not of Him and to turn what was meant for harm into blessing, to bring reconciliation and unity where there has been division, and to fill your home with His peace, joy and patience.
For the many specific burdens you named, I join you in praying with biblical wisdom. For school and teachers, for work and new responsibilities, for sleep and daily needs, ask for supernatural help, understanding and favor, and for God to give confidence rooted in Him. For deep wounds of rejection, abandonment and trauma, ask for His gentle, thorough healing of memories and emotions. For conflicts where you have vented or felt afraid or overlooked, bring those honestly to the Lord for forgiveness and cleansing, and ask for grace to respond to adversity with kindness and truth, and for wise and safe boundaries where abuse has occurred.
Concerning relationships in your family, I pray with you for purity, healing and clear direction. God designed marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and He calls us to reserve intimacy for within that covenant. I will not ask God to bless a relationship that does not honor that design, but I do pray that He will bring conviction where needed, comfort where there is hurt, and deliverance where there is dysfunction. Where a relationship is harmful or outside His will, pray for courage to step away and for the Lord to stop what would lead to further damage. Where reconciliation is according to His will, pray for repentance, forgiveness and a new foundation built on His love. In every case pray for healing of past wounds and for friendships and family bonds that reflect His holiness.
For your prayer gatherings and devotions and for the opportunity to share the Word, pray that the Lord would anoint, protect and guide, and that He would draw hearts to seek Him together and pour out His Spirit. May He give you the exact words to speak for His glory and for the salvation of those who hear, and may He send you fresh encouragement and strength as you wait for complete deliverance.
Father, in the holy name of Jesus, I lift this family to You. Cover them with Your protection, save those who do not yet know You, deliver and heal in body, mind and spirit according to Your perfect will, restore what is broken, pour Your love into their hearts, make them to bear Your fruit, and lead them step by step as they trust You.
