Your burden to see Jesus glorified in your family is beautiful and right, and we join you in lifting every part of this before Him. You have come in the right way, pleading the blood of Jesus as the perfect spotless Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world and cleanses us from all sin. There is no other provision God has made for sin. Salvation is through Jesus alone, by His grace and His finished work, and even the faith to believe it is a gift from Him.
That is why your prayers for the salvation of your family and relatives are the most important prayers you can pray. The Scripture says the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all people, and now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation. The Bible teaches that if we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved. There will be a day when every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord to the glory of God the Father, but that confession then will not be unto salvation. It will be an acknowledgment of the truth once rejected. Today, while there is opportunity, to confess and submit to His lordship now means salvation and eternal life. It is a great salvation, open to whosoever will come, reaching even the lowest sinner, and it was first spoken by the Lord Himself who is the captain and originator of our salvation, bringing many sons and daughters into glory to share His kingdom. Do not grow weary in asking that God would open the hearts of your unsaved loved ones while the door is open. He desires that none would go past His appointed time, and He hears you as you cry out day and night. Jesus taught that God will bring justice for His elect who cry to Him, though He does so in His perfect wisdom and timing.
You also asked to work out your salvation with fear and trembling and to be filled with the Holy Spirit, to love Him first and to obey Him. That is the right response to grace. That phrase does not mean to work for your salvation, as if you could earn it. Salvation is outside our ability and rests entirely on His grace. It means to live out with diligence and reverence what God has already worked within you, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose. Your honest confession that you fail often is met by His promise that His mercies are new every morning. Keep turning to Him in repentance for anything that grieves Him and ask Him to guide you and give you wisdom. He delights to do that.
For healing and deliverance, we pray with you with confidence and with trust. The prophet Isaiah spoke of the Messiah bearing our griefs and carrying our sorrows, and Matthew shows that this includes physical infirmity as well as spiritual healing, for Jesus bore our sicknesses. When He broke bread He said this is My body broken for you. We believe strongly in healing and we ask Him to touch the physical needs you mentioned, the spasms, the wounds, the trauma and rejection and abandonment, the burnout, the places where thoughts and emotions need His peace. At the same time Scripture helps us keep perspective. What is more important than salvation? Nothing. The forgiveness of sins is the greatest miracle in any life. And we do not fully understand why some are healed instantly, some gradually as with the man who at first saw men as trees walking, and some, like Paul with his thorn in the flesh, are given grace to endure when healing in that form is not the Lord's will. There are many ways He heals, sometimes through a touch, sometimes through a word, sometimes through the natural processes of healing He Himself created, and sometimes through a deep healing in the mind and emotions. We can bring every request for deliverance from bondage, addiction and compulsion to Him and trust His perfect will, knowing He has power in the physical realm and authority in the spiritual realm and nothing is beyond Him.
You asked for protection, for warrior angels around you and a wall of fire of the Holy Spirit around your thoughts and emotions, and you stood on promises like Psalm 91 and Isaiah 54. The Lord is our refuge and shelter, and He promises that no weapon formed against His people will finally prosper and that He will command His care over those who trust Him. We ask Him to guard you and your household, to give you His peace that guards heart and mind, and to keep you from what is not good.
Concerning relationships, we agree with you to ask God to block what is not good and to do what brings true salvation and wholeness. God designed marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and sexual intimacy and living together belong within that covenant. We cannot ask Him to bless what falls outside that design. Instead we ask Him to bring conviction, to save, to deliver, and to lead each person involved into purity and into a walk that honors Him. If there are influences fueling evil behavior or deception, we ask Him to expose what is true, to remove strongholds and lies, and to heal relationships supernaturally according to His truth.
For the practical burdens you carry, school and friendships and tests, work and meetings and tasks and leadership, care for others and provision for your home, we ask the Lord to give wisdom, to anoint your service, to help with organization and planning and shepherding, and to turn what the enemy meant for evil into blessing. When you feel out of it and unmotivated, ask Him for strength for each step. He knows the details you have lifted up, even those you have prayed before and those you cannot fully express now. He also knows the hurt over being overlooked and the need for favor with teachers and classmates and colleagues. We pray He would give confidence rooted in Him, good friendships, and a sense of being loved and heard by Him, especially for the young ones whose faith you want to see strengthened.
You have experienced that when some in your own family do not yet believe, there can be alienation, and yet those who belong to Jesus become a family with a bond even deeper than blood. May you experience that fellowship and love in the family of God as you continue to pray.
We pray that God would meet you with His presence, that you would know He hears you, and that you would continue to call upon Him as Psalm 50 invites, that in the day of trouble He will deliver and you will glorify Him. May He guide every preparation and help you respond to adversity with kindness and love, keeping your ministry and your life free from offense so that the message of salvation is not hindered.
Father, we thank You for Your wonderful grace by which we have received the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. We ask You to glorify Your name in this family. Save those who are not yet saved, deliver those in bondage, heal according to Your merciful will, protect and give peace, block what is not of You, grant repentance and the fullness of Your Holy Spirit, and grant wisdom for every decision. Do Your miraculous work in hearts, that Your Word would sink deep and bear fruit. We trust You to act in Your perfect time and way. In the name of Jesus, our salvation, amen.
