Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your prayer has been brought before the Lord with thanksgiving, and we join you in lifting your whole family to Jesus Christ, the spotless Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world and cleanses us from all sin.
We thank God with you for the signs of encouragement He has already given, for His mercies that are new every morning, and for His promise to hear those who call upon Him. We stand with you on His word that He will bring justice for His chosen ones who cry out to Him day and night, that He is near to those who call upon Him in the day of trouble and will deliver them, that He is our refuge and shelter, and that no weapon formed against His people shall prosper. We ask Him to cover you and your household with the blood of Christ, to surround you with His protection, to guard your thoughts and emotions, and to give you deep peace as you trust Him.
We pray as you have asked for the salvation of your entire family, including relatives who do not yet know the Lord. Now is the acceptable time and now is the day of salvation, and we ask that God would open every unsaved heart to the gospel, grant true repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, and deliver each one from bondage, addiction, compulsion and every chain that is not of Him. We pray that He would block what is not good and not of His will, and that where relationships are not according to His holy design for marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, with all sexual intimacy and living together belonging only within that covenant, He would graciously intervene, bring conviction, stop what would lead to harm, and lead each person to holiness, healing and salvation in Christ. We do not ask God to bless what is outside His will, but to save, to cleanse, and to restore according to His mercy and truth.
We bring before Him the many specific needs you named. For the children, we ask for healing from spasms and wounds, for deliverance from trauma, rejection and abandonment, for the lifting of lies and strongholds and for the renewing of the mind with His truth. We ask that He would give good friends at school, favor with teachers and classmates, help with tests, homework and understanding, confidence rooted in Christ, and a strengthened faith that knows He hears prayer. We ask Him to rebuke evil behavior and to heal relationships in the home supernaturally by His grace.
For work, meetings, workload, organization, leadership and shepherding, and for all the matters of care and responsibility that weigh on you, we ask for wisdom, guidance and direction. Hearing the word is not enough for salvation, but hearing with continual remembrance, with fortitude and with a heart freed from the cares of this world bears fruit. We pray God would help you to love Him first and foremost, to obey Him, to be filled with His Holy Spirit, and to walk in repentance for anything that grieves Him. When you feel you have failed, as we all fail often, we remember that salvation is not of our strength but of His mercy, and that Christ suffered and died for our salvation. His grace sustains us as we patiently endure suffering and share in His comfort.
We also lift up the prayer meeting and other prayer gatherings, the intro course, the sermons and workshops, the outreaches to the homeless and in the subway, the Easter outreach, the children's church and the kids camp. We ask God to powerfully anoint these times, to pierce hearts with His word, to draw many to Himself including parents and children, to convict His church to pray more, and to let His word sink deep and bear lasting fruit for His glory. We pray for the teams, for leaders, for worship, for unity where there has been hurt or feeling overlooked, and for forgiveness and healing where words have wounded. We ask Him to turn what the enemy meant for evil into blessing and to bring breakthrough and encouragement.
We join you in asking for His mighty intervention in the difficult situations that feel too heavy to handle, for quick help where you have cried out for it, for healing for those who are sick, for comfort for those who are burned out, and for His hand upon every detail you have entrusted to Him, including the requests from your previous prayer that was deleted. He knows every name and every detail even where words were left unspoken.
May the Lord grant you encounters with Him, fill you with His Spirit, give you wisdom for each decision, and keep you looking to Christ who alone is our salvation and hope. We will continue to pray that your family would be kept, healed, delivered and protected, and that Jesus would be glorified in all things. Amen.
