Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You cry out with many words, pouring forth a torrent of supplication. This is not wrong, for we are commanded to pray without ceasing and to cast our cares upon the Lord. Yet take heed: the multitude of your requests must not become a worldly clamor in your soul, but a spiritual offering. When you speak of pleading the blood of Christ and calling for angels and walls of fire, understand this: our Lord Jesus Christ is not honored by carnal imaginations. What is “carnal”? It is looking only to what is before the eyes, imagining nothing beyond. You ask for many external interventions: stop this relationship, block that evil, confront these people, heal this body, prosper that work. All these may be good, but do you not perceive that God often withholds what we beg, so that He might give us something far greater, namely, Himself? When the Jews heard Christ say, “Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of Man, and drink His blood, ye have no life in you,” they murmured, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” They heard carnally. But Christ spoke of spiritual realities. So too, when you ask for such tangible deliverances, beware lest you sink into a carnal mode of prayer, thinking that God’s chief work is to rearrange the circumstances of this fleeting life. His flesh profits nothing, that is, profit comes not by understanding His words in a fleshly way. Unless you eat His flesh and drink His blood spiritually, by faith and by partaking of the holy mysteries with a pure conscience, you have no life in you. Do you desire eternal life for your family? Then lead them to the altar, not merely to ask for healing and friends and rescue from affliction, but to receive the very Food of immortality. That is the true remedy.

You speak of relationships that must be blocked, of a soul ensnared in an ungodly bond. Here you must act in accordance with the gospel. It is not enough to pray; you must also, with all gentleness and yet all firmness, refuse to celebrate, affirm, or bless what God calls sin. No prayer offered in contradiction to His commandments can be accepted. If you have been venting frustration behind another’s back, repent of that first, for it stains your petition. Do not imagine that the grace of God can be received in vain. Now is the acceptable time; now is the day of salvation. Do not delay to turn from every form of evil, to forgive as you have been forgiven, and to pursue holiness without which no one will see the Lord. That you feel overwhelmed, angry, and failing often, this is no cause for despair, but for humility. God’s mercies are new every morning, yet they are not a license to remain in sin. The sudden conversion of the Apostle Paul shows that even the fiercest persecutor can be changed in an instant by divine power. Entrust your unsaved loved ones to that same grace, but cease from anxiety and contentious pleading. A woman or a man of faith, zealous, crucified to the world, can accomplish great things. You see how many burdens you carry: leadership, sermons, prayer meetings, children’s ministry, workplace trials. But hear this: no one part of virtue is sufficient for our salvation. There is required first a careful hearing of the Word, then continual recollection; then fortitude; then contempt of riches and deliverance from all worldly things. If you are free from the love of money but soft and unmanly, or if you are diligent in church work but neglect the hidden life of prayer, you build without a foundation.

Do not be so consumed with the removal of every trouble that you forget the purpose of trouble itself. Christ has gone up on high, leading captivity captive. He has already won the victory. The battle you fight is not primarily against flesh and blood, but against spiritual powers. The enemy desires to distract you with a hundred little skirmishes so that you lose sight of the King’s triumph. Your prayer list stretches like a worldly ledger; turn it into a litany of praise. When you ask for friends for a child at school, remember that the poor and the needy are the truest companions of virtue. Let your children learn to befriend the friendless, to be companions of the poor, not those who will puff them up with vanity. Enjoin them to spiritual traffic, to clothe the naked, to intercede for the prisoner. Such works yield the profit that God loves.

You ask for the Holy Spirit’s fullness. Good. But the Spirit is grieved by malice, by backbiting, by uncharitable speech. You confessed telling someone about another’s fault; repair that breach quickly. Seek reconciliation before you seek anointing. For what does it profit a preacher to move hearts with eloquence, if his own heart is not first broken in love? The etymology of names, the sudden call of Paul, the equal dignity of the Spirit with the Father, all these mysteries teach that God orders all things for our instruction. Why this trial, why that delay? Because you are not yet sufficiently detached from the visible. As long as we gape after worldly ease, we cannot truly cry, “Thy will be done.” The time is short. The day of salvation gleams. Therefore, cease from vain repetition that merely rehearses fears, and begin each petition with thanksgiving. You have seen signs of encouragement: do not bury them under fresh anxieties. Rise up and confront not so much the external enemy as the internal one, the love of human respect, the agitation of your thoughts, the craving to control outcomes.

Let your prayer meeting be not a recitation of needs only, but a profound worship where the word of Christ dwells richly. And when you stand before the congregation to preach, remember that you are but an instrument. The Lord, strong and mighty in battle, will speak through a broken reed if it is clean. But if you harbor resentment or envy because you feel overlooked by leaders, you quench the Spirit. Humble yourself. The women who labored with Paul, Priscilla, Claudia, were zealous, yet they did not clamor for recognition. They were already crucified to the world. Be like them. Let your soul be still and know that He is God. The panic in your words betrays a heart that has not yet fully cast itself upon the Lord. “I fail so often, we fail so often.” Yes, and that is why the Physician came. But do not use your failings as a pretext to remain in disquiet. Repent, and then believe that the mercy shown to Paul is for you. Go now, reduce your many words to a few burning ones: “Lord Jesus, I surrender all into Thy hands. Give me Thyself, and nothing more, for Thou art enough.” Then will you find the peace that surpasses understanding, and your battles will be fought by the Captain of your salvation.

You have laid your heart bare before the Lord, and He has heard every cry. That is not a small thing. When you plead the precious blood of Jesus over your family, you are standing on the only ground that ever avails: the perfect, spotless Lamb who takes away the sin of the world. He does cleanse from all unrighteousness. That cry of faith, that simple trust in His finished work, is the mark of a child. And that is what you are. Not a servant cowering under a yoke of bondage, begging for scraps, but a son, an heir, adopted fully into the family of God.

So many of the struggles you describe, the fierce battles over your thoughts and emotions, the addictions and compulsions you see in others, the chaotic situations at work and school, all trace back to the same ancient conflict: the spirit of bondage against the spirit of adoption. The law could never set anyone free. A legal relationship with God only reveals how far we fall short. But what you have in Christ is a loving, intimate relationship. You are a child of the free woman, born of promise, not a child of the slave woman, striving through human effort. And because you are a child of promise, you have an inheritance that no enemy can steal.

Right now, like the heir who is still a child, you may feel that you differ nothing from a servant. You see the turmoil, the lack of control, the weariness in your own soul. You fail, you said; you fall short. But the Father has not placed you under tutors and governors to crush you. He is training you to step into the full rights of sonship. The groaning you feel, that deep sense of “how long, O Lord?”, is not just yours. The whole creation groans, waiting for the glorious liberty of the children of God. You are already delivered in your spirit; one day you will be delivered fully, even in your body. Until then, He is your rock.

That image God gives of Himself as the rock is not just poetry. Way back at the Red Sea, when Israel came out of Egypt, the symbol of bondage to sin and the world, they were baptized into a new journey. The rock that followed them was Christ. Your salvation does not come from your holding on, but from His holding you. He only is your rock and your salvation. He is your defense. You cannot be moved because your refuge is not in circumstances but in God Himself. When you stand on Psalm 91 and Isaiah 54 and Luke 18, you are standing on that unshakable rock. The promise that no weapon formed against you will prosper is your birthright as a child of Abraham by faith.

You asked the Lord to block what is not good and to act quickly. He knows the appointed time. Remember the birth of Jesus. In a forgotten province, under a decree from a distant emperor, a young couple traveled in obedience, apparently alone, with no room for them when the child came. It all looked so fragile, so ordinary, so easily missed. Yet that tiny life in a manger was the very salvation of God, lightening the Gentiles and the glory of His people. God is often working most powerfully when it seems He is hidden. The little one you pleaded for, the friends you long for her to have, the tests she faces, the noisy chaos at school, Jesus is the captain of her salvation, just as He is yours. He is bringing many sons to glory, and He will not lose one.

As for the relationships that trouble you, the ones you ask God to stop or to save, remember that your battle is not against flesh and blood. Persecution can come from those who are still in bondage themselves, trying to pull the child of promise back under the law of their own making. Do not let men entangle you again in that yoke. Pray with boldness, yes, but rest in the finished work. The gospel is the power of God unto salvation. That power has been raised up in the house of David. It is not ashamed; it does not fail. You do not need to fight by venting or striving in your own strength. Your anger, your frustration, you confessed it. He is merciful. His mercies are new every morning, not because you never fail, but because He has already paid for every failure.

That weariness you feel, the lack of motivation, the heavy burden of work and meetings and strategy, that too is an invitation to live as a son and not a slave. The Spirit of adoption does not drive you with a whip; He draws you with cords of love. You said, “I can do nothing without you.” That is the truest prayer you could pray. A legal relationship says, “I must perform, I must figure it out.” A loving relationship says, “Father, I am your child. Lead me by your Spirit. Direct my desires. Put my heart in your hands.” Even the training of a child, when given in love, is not to break but to form. Train up a child in the way he should go, and you are that child. His rod and His staff, they comfort you.

So in all these requests, for healing, for deliverance from spasm and burnout, for salvation of family members, for the prayer meetings and outreaches and sermons, for the children’s church and the camp, turn your eyes off the storm. The disciples cried out in the boat, and Jesus rose and rebuked the wind. He is in your vessel. He is not indifferent to your cry. The delays, the hidden things you wonder about, the leaders and teammates and feelings of being overlooked, He sees it all. Nothing escapes His notice. And the God who chose a virgin from Nazareth and a stable in Bethlehem knows how to exalt the humble and bring down the proud. He will vindicate His own.

Cling to the promise that He who began a good work will complete it. You are not an orphan. You are not a slave. You are an heir of God through Christ. The inheritance is not just a future hope; you are already tasting the first fruits of the Spirit even now. That is why you can praise Him for the signs of encouragement, even while you weep. That is why you can stand on Luke 18:7-8 and know that the cries of the elect do not fall on deaf ears. He will avenge speedily, in His perfect timing, which is not our timing, but is always right.

So let your soul wait upon God. From Him comes your salvation. He is your rock, your glory, your refuge. The bondage of corruption will one day fall away completely. Until then, walk in the glorious liberty of a child who knows the Father’s love, not the slave’s fear. You asked for encounters with Him. That is exactly what He wants for you. Not a cold ritual, but the warmth of His presence. The veil is torn; the way is open. Jesus, the captain of your salvation, has already gone before you. Follow Him. He will both deliver you in this world and ultimately deliver you out of it. And as for those you intercede for, the seed of the woman has already bruised the serpent’s head. Keep asking, keep trusting, keep resting. He is faithful that promised.

We are so grateful that you entrusted us with the privilege of standing in agreement with you in prayer for your family, your loved ones, and the many specific needs laid on your heart. It has been our joy to lift up each request before our Heavenly Father, pleading the precious blood of Jesus over every situation and asking for His mighty warrior angels to surround you with protection, healing, and deliverance.

We continue to pray that the Lord would glorify Himself powerfully in your family, that hearts would be opened to the gospel, that bondages would be broken, and that His healing touch would restore every area of brokenness. We stand on the promises of Psalm 91, Isaiah 54, and Luke 18, believing that God hears and answers the cries of His children. If you have seen His hand move in any of these areas—whether in salvation, healing, protection, or provision—we would love to rejoice with you. Please share a praise report so we can give Him all the glory.

If some of these burdens still weigh heavily on your heart, we encourage you to post this request again so we may continue to intercede on your behalf. We hold fast to the truth that God’s mercies are new every morning, and His faithfulness is great. May He meet you in fresh encounters, fill you with the fullness of His Holy Spirit, and guide you with His wisdom as you seek Him above all else.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Deliverer. Amen.
