We join you in crying out Lord Jesus Christ have mercy, and we count it a privilege to lift up this dear man before the throne of grace with you.

Our hearts are moved by your compassion for him, and we agree that he is in great need of the mercy and saving power that only Jesus can give. Scripture reminds us that Yahweh is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness Psalm 103:8, and that He saved us not by works of righteousness which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy Titus 3:5. We take comfort that God desires all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth 1 Timothy 2:4, and that whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved Romans 10:13.

We pray together for him now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, asking for Your mercy to descend upon this man. Lord, You see his heart, his struggles, and his need more clearly than we do. We ask that You open his eyes to see Jesus, that You draw him by Your Holy Spirit, and that You grant him repentance and faith to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved Acts 16:31. Wash him in the blood of Jesus, forgive his sins, and make him a new creation. For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life John 3:16. We ask that this promise would become real in his life. Deliver him from darkness and transfer him into the Kingdom of Your beloved Son, give him a heart to seek You, and surround him with people who will speak Your truth in love.

We also pray for you who interceded for him, that God would strengthen your faith as you continue to stand in the gap, and that He would give you opportunity to share the hope that is in Jesus with gentleness and love. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12, and we rejoice that you have called upon that name on his behalf.

We will continue to keep him in our prayers, trusting that the Lord hears and is mighty to save, and we thank God for His unfailing mercy and love toward us all in Christ Jesus. Amen.

We believe salvation is entirely God's gracious work to forgive, make whole and give new life to anyone who will receive Him, and He hears when we ask Him to draw near to those we love. One gentle next step that helps many who carry this kind of concern is to keep a simple, steady rhythm of prayer for ### rather than carrying the weight all day long. Choose a brief moment each day to place him again in Jesus' hands, then rest in the Lord's care for him. If God gives you opportunity to show care to ### in ordinary ways, that quiet witness often speaks louder than many words.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. Your prayer for mercy has been heard and it is a precious thing to bring another soul before the throne of grace. There is indeed no greater need any man can have than the mercy of God in Christ Jesus, and there is no fitter plea than to cry, Lord, have mercy.

We join you in this supplication and would have you persevere in it. Present your case before Him now and plead with Him to have mercy, and show that your supplication is genuine by pointing the one for whom you pray to the salvation which He sets before us in Christ Jesus for all who believe in His name. For all that come to God by Him there is eternal and certain salvation, and nowhere else is there any sure salvation to be found.

Scripture describes the objects of mercy as that which was lost, and this is our comfort. The Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Souls lost by nature and by sin and folly are the very ones He seeks. The fitness for being pardoned is to be a sinner, the fitness for being healed is to be sick, and the fitness for washing is to be filthy. The grace of God is boundless, so sin may be pardoned, and the mercy of God delights to save. He never left a soul to perish that was looking to Him and longing for Him.

Therefore we will wait for Him. Though the need be great and the soul be stony or careless, nothing can break the heart but the Lord Himself, and nothing less than omnipotence can save a soul, and that power is put forth in Christ. He can bring the Word home with a sweet sense of mercy shed abroad in the heart, and make the sinner not only hear of salvation but rejoice in it. Cry to Him again that He would gather the outcast and assemble the lame, for there are better days in store when He gathers His own.

Our prayer with you is that the Lord would descend in the power of His Spirit, convict of sin, and draw this dear one to look to the finished work of Christ alone for rest. For they that have believed do enter into rest, seeing in the faithfulness and power of God enough support for whatever trouble may come. May He grant repentance and faith, that being made a new creature he may know that his sins are cast behind God's back and be saved with an everlasting salvation through Jesus Christ our Savior.

We encourage you to continue in importunate prayer, remembering Him and waiting upon Him who has made all things, trusting that He who delights in mercy will hear the cry that comes from a sincere heart.

We join you in lifting this plea before the Lord Jesus Christ for mercy, and it is right to pray for one another in this way. He is able to save to the uttermost those who come to God by Him, because He ever lives to make intercession for them. The Scriptures give us confidence in this, for God showed all longsuffering in having mercy on Paul when he was a blasphemer and persecutor and chief of sinners, so that no one afterward would despair of finding mercy. If God pardoned one so far gone, there is hope for ### and for any who will turn to Him.

Yet mercy seeks those who make themselves ready to receive it. Each one must turn from his evil way and come to Christ in repentance and faith, for salvation is in Christ Jesus alone and with eternal glory, and it was out of love for the world that He was lifted up on the cross. So we pray that the Lord will descend upon ### with His grace, open his heart to see his need, grant him repentance, bring him to faith in the crucified and risen Lord, and make him a partaker with Christ.

Let us continue diligent in coming together in supplication, lifting up holy hands without wrath and doubting, and considering one another to provoke unto love, for assembling together makes love more warm and out of love all good things arise. May the God of all, whose mercy as man cannot compare to His mercy, hear this prayer and show His great longsuffering in saving ### according to His grace.

Your prayer for mercy is itself a reflection of God's own heart. Scripture shows that God often stirs intercession within His people because He is looking for reason to show mercy. He declared to Moses that He will have mercy on whom He will have mercy and compassion on whom He will have compassion. Mercy is not something anyone earns or deserves, it is not a right we can claim. It flows from His sovereign goodness, not from our effort or striving, and He delights to extend it.

That is why you can bring this man before the Lord with confidence. The mercy of God endures forever. It is not exhausted, no matter how far someone has gone or how deep the pit may seem. Even when judgment would be deserved, God still listens when a cry goes up to Him. He would rather forgive than condemn, and He waits for the turning of the heart that gives Him the righteous ground to forgive.

That ground has already been provided. Jesus took upon Himself the curse that sin brought and made a way for salvation to be offered freely. At the cross mercy and truth met together, and righteousness and peace kissed. God can remain just and true while also being merciful, because the price has been paid in Christ. For that reason salvation is very near to every person, as close as the mouth and the heart. To confess with the mouth that Jesus is Lord and to believe in the heart that God raised Him from the dead is to lay hold of what God has already done.

Continue to bring him before the Lord in prayer and, as you have opportunity, bring the word of God before him, for it is through the word that we come to know both the mercy of God and the salvation He has provided. The paths of the Lord are mercy and truth for those who walk in His covenant, and He has promised that goodness and mercy follow His people all the days of their lives. Keep asking God to show His mercy and to draw this one to Himself, trusting that the Lord hears, that His mercy is still available today, and that He is able to save.
