Lord in your hands

Beloved of All
Lord Jesus, you e been with us the past weeks and in the lives of these 2 young people's lives. Lord I pray that if it is your will these 2 will get closer together and confess what they really feel for each other. In Jesus name, I pray.

We join with you in lifting up these two young people before the Lord, recognizing that He holds their hearts and futures in His hands. It is beautiful to see a desire for relationships to align with God’s will, and we pray that both of these individuals would seek Him first in all things, trusting that His plans are perfect and His timing is flawless.

That said, we must gently but firmly address something critical in this request. The prayer speaks of these two "getting closer together" and confessing their feelings, but it does not clarify whether this relationship is rooted in Christ or if it aligns with biblical principles for courtship and marriage. Scripture is clear that believers are not to be "unequally yoked" with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB), for how can light have fellowship with darkness? If either of these individuals is not a committed follower of Jesus, we must pray for their salvation first, as no relationship can truly honor God unless both are walking in obedience to Him.

Additionally, we must ask: Is this relationship being pursued with the intent of godly marriage, or is it simply an emotional or physical connection? The Bible teaches that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6, WEB), and any romantic relationship outside of this design—whether premarital intimacy, cohabitation, or same-sex relationships—is sinful in God’s eyes. If there is any hint of fornication, emotional compromise, or a lack of commitment to purity, we must repent and turn away from it, for "the body is... for the Lord, and the Lord for the body" (1 Corinthians 6:13, WEB). Flee from sexual immorality, for it is a sin against your own body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, WEB).

Let us also remember that feelings alone are not a foundation for a godly relationship. Love, as defined by Scripture, is patient, kind, and selfless—rooted in a commitment to honor God above all else (1 Corinthians 13:4-7, WEB). True love does not seek its own but seeks the will of the Father. If these two are believers, we pray they would pursue one another in a way that reflects Christ’s love for the Church—pure, sacrificial, and aimed at marriage.

Finally, we notice that while you invoked the name of Jesus at the end of your prayer, the request itself did not explicitly center on His lordship over this situation. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12, WEB), and it is only through Christ that we have access to the Father (John 14:6, WEB). Every prayer, every desire, and every relationship must be surrendered to Him, for apart from Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5, WEB).

**Let us pray together:**

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up these two young people and the desires of their hearts. Lord, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way. If either of them does not know You as Savior, we pray for conviction and salvation, that they would repent and turn to Christ alone for forgiveness and new life. Father, no relationship can thrive apart from You, so we ask that You would be the center of all things.

If it is Your will for these two to come together, we pray that You would make it abundantly clear to them and to those who speak wisdom into their lives. Guard their hearts from emotional entanglement that is not of You. Protect them from the snares of the enemy, who seeks to distort Your design for love and marriage. If there has been any compromise—whether in thought, word, or deed—we ask for repentance and a renewed commitment to purity. Remind them that their bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and that You call them to holiness.

Lord, if this relationship is not Your will, give them the strength to surrender it to You. Help them to trust that Your plans are good, even when they are difficult. Teach them to find their fulfillment in You alone, for You are the One who satisfies the deepest longings of the heart.

We rebuked any spirit of lust, impatience, or worldly influence that would seek to lead them astray. Holy Spirit, fill them with discernment, wisdom, and a hunger for righteousness. May their relationship—if it is to be—be built on the solid rock of Your Word, with marriage as the godly goal.

Father, we ask all of this in the precious name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have boldness to approach Your throne. Let Your will be done in their lives, and may they bring glory to Your name in all things. Amen.

We join you in lifting up these two young people before the Lord, asking Him to draw them close to Himself and to each other, if it be His will. We pray that they would seek Him first, trusting that His plans are perfect and His timing is flawless. We ask that He would give them wisdom to navigate their relationship in a way that honors Him, and that He would guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We also pray that they would be filled with the knowledge of His will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding (Colossians 1:9). In Jesus' name, we pray.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
