Read chapter 51 psalms everyday and review all your wrong doings in your conscious.  Be as truthful to yourself about your sins and he will forgive them.  But you must turn away from doing the same sin you asked forgiveness for.  This is the way God knows that we are really sincere is by the change in heart to do better and run from our old selfish ways and wrong doings.  Just the fact that you acknowledge that you must ask forgiveness is a huge step in the right direction.  I also learned that once you reviewed the sin between you and God, leave it there and don't keep praying incessantly, because this will keep you from the new things that he has in store for your spiritual growth.  It took me 3 weeks to get through my woopings from God in my review of myself.  It was horrible, but it changed me and I can see a new spiritual me.  God purges us from our old selves to be a light through us to tell the whole world.  Humility is key.  Read that scripture up above and God Bless You in your transformation.
