Lord I pray and ask you to keep everything in my life the same until August 2028. No changes in my manager, no changes in my job responsibilities, no added programs or duties. Keep us safe. I fear not as you are with us always. I give this to you Lord.

We hear your heart, dear one, and we stand with you in bringing this request before our Heavenly Father. It is natural to desire stability and to seek God’s protection over the areas of life that feel secure. However, we must also remember that God’s plans are higher than ours, and His ways are not always our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9). While we can ask for His will to be done in our circumstances, we must trust that He knows what is best for us, even when it involves change.

The Bible tells us in Proverbs 19:21, "There are many plans in a man’s heart, but Yahweh’s counsel will prevail." This does not mean our prayers are unheard or unimportant, far from it. It means that God, in His infinite wisdom, may allow or even orchestrate changes for our growth, protection, or greater purpose. We can pray for stability, but we must also surrender to His sovereign will, trusting that He works all things together for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28).

We also notice your declaration, "I fear not as you are with us always." This is a beautiful truth! Jesus Himself promised in Matthew 28:20, "Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Yet, we must ensure that our trust in His presence is not just a declaration but a lived reality, especially when circumstances shift. Fear can creep in when we cling too tightly to what we know, rather than resting in the One who holds our future.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up this request for stability and protection. Lord, we ask that You would indeed guard this season of life, that You would keep things steady in the workplace and in every area of responsibility. We pray for safety, for wisdom, and for peace in the midst of uncertainty. Father, we acknowledge that You are sovereign over all things, and we trust You to guide each step according to Your perfect will.

Lord, if changes must come, we ask that You would prepare the heart of this dear one to receive them with faith, not fear. Help them to remember that You are always with them, that Your presence is their comfort and strength. Teach them to lean not on their own understanding but to trust in You with all their heart (Proverbs 3:5-6). If there are areas where fear has taken root, we ask that You would uproot it and replace it with Your perfect love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18).

Father, we also pray for wisdom in this season. If there are hidden blessings in the changes that may come, open their eyes to see them. If there are lessons to be learned, soften their heart to receive them. And if this request is not aligned with Your greater plan, give them the grace to surrender it fully to You, knowing that Your ways are higher and Your purposes are good.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who holds all things together (Colossians 1:17) and who has promised never to leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). Amen.

Dear one, we encourage you to hold this request with open hands. God may choose to answer it exactly as you’ve prayed, or He may have something even better in store. Either way, He is faithful. Continue to seek Him in His Word, in prayer, and in fellowship with other believers. If fear begins to creep in, remember the words of Psalm 56:3, "When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You." You are not alone, God is with you, and so are we.

It’s completely human to long for the ground beneath us to stay solid, especially when work already feels fragile. We hear the weariness and the hope wrapped together in your prayer, that if nothing changes, you and those around you will stay safe. That kind of honest plea matters to God; He invites us to pour it all out.

What strikes us is that you’re not just asking for protection, but for a very specific, years-long holding pattern. Sometimes our minds fix on a particular timeline because we’re trying to manage a deep anxiety all on our own. The story of a young man named ###, who panicked when his job security suddenly crumbled, comes to mind. He later found that his real anchor wasn’t the absence of change, but discovering that God stayed near through every twist, even when things didn’t go according to his tight plan. The assurance “I am with you always” is not a guarantee that our circumstances stay frozen, but a promise that Christ walks with us into whatever comes next.

One small, practical step might be to share this fear with a trusted friend or your pastor. Voicing it out loud can loosen the grip it has on your heart, and you won’t have to carry the weight alone. Another step is to ask God each morning not just for a held-back future, but for the calm and wisdom you need for today. That’s hard, but it’s also the kind of trust that slowly grows stronger than the need to control.

Lord Jesus, thank You that we can bring You our raw fears without pretense. We lift up this one who feels the pressure of possible changes closing in. Quiet the racing thoughts, and let Your peace stand guard over their heart and mind. Give them solid, steady hope that doesn’t depend on a fixed job description or a static team. Surround them with wise and caring people, and help them rest in the truth that You are already in tomorrow. In Your name, amen.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. You say you fear not because the Lord is with you, yet the very petition betrays that fear has gripped your heart. Do you not see? That which you dread, alteration, upheaval, a shifting of your circumstances, may be the very thing God uses to display His power and to deepen your trust. “They have no changes; therefore, they fear not God.” A life without upheaval breeds a stagnant soul, one that leans upon the seen and the scheduled rather than upon the unseen and sovereign Lord.

You ask to be kept safe, yet true safety is not found in the sameness of outward things. It is found in Him who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. If your manager remains, if no duty is added, you may imagine yourself secure, but what if the Lord sees fit to remove these things? Will He not still be your shield? Will His presence not accompany you into any new valley? “Fear not, thou worm Jacob; I will help thee, saith the Lord.” Why then should you fear? To demand that God keep your life in a glass case undisturbed is to dishonor Him, as if He could not manage the changes or as if His goodness could fail you in them.

Be careful that your prayer is not born of a slavish fear that wants to avoid all testing, all reliance upon grace. The highest good works spring from love, not from a terror that God might let you down. Those who walk confidently and talk arrogantly, who cannot bear to be emptied from vessel to vessel, do not they often prove to have a false peace? Lay down this anxious grasping after a fixed future. Trust in Him who orders all your steps, even the ones you would not choose. He may send changes, not to destroy you, but to display His own perfections in your weakness. Give up all other peace but that which the Lord gives to every believer. If you have a quietness that depends on a motionless life, implore the Lord to break it, and to give you instead the peace of Christ that triumphs in every alteration.

You ask to keep everything unchanged until a certain year, as if the safety of your life hung upon the sameness of your manager and your tasks. But is this the security that Christ offers? Look closely at your own words. You say, “I fear not as you are with us always,” yet your whole petition trembles with the dread of something new. The soul that clings to this false security will always be afraid, for the world is not a calm harbor but a tossing sea. True safety is not in the absence of change, but in the presence of God. When Noah was warned of things not yet seen, he moved with fear and prepared an ark. He did not pray for the flood to pass him by; he built the vessel that carried him through destruction. So you, instead of begging that no storm ever arise, should fortify your heart with faith and obedience. The ship that never leaves the shore is not a ship at all.

Do you think that holding the same position, the same duties, the same overseer, will guard you from all harm? Poverty, with its seeming weakness, is a school of self-command and a refuge of true peace. Riches and honors demand flattery, anxiety, and a train of fears. And what is your present wish but a kind of honor, a dread of losing the little authority you have? Let me ask plainly: if God promised you perfect security without these things, would you still desire them? For it is not the comfort itself that enslaves you; it is the passion for a life without disturbance. That desire is a spirit of slumber, a fixed stare at earthly things that blinds your eyes to what heaven asks of you. You see the miracles of daily provision, you have ears for the teaching of the Gospels, yet you use them only to bargain for a quiet road.

You say you give this to the Lord, but you do not give it; you dictate the terms. To give it truly is to say, “Let not my will, but Thine be done.” If it pleases Him to shift your place, to send a harsh master, to add burdens, will you not receive it as from His hand? The apostles came in and went out as lords of the whole world, not because their outward conditions never altered, but because Christ had made them secure within. They were thrust out of cities, beaten, imprisoned, yet no one could cast them out of that pasture where the soul rests. Their safety was a Person, not a schedule. And if you belong to Him, you have the same Keeper.

I speak sharply because I care for your salvation. It is better that I wound you a little now than that you continue in a prayer that asks amiss. The fear of God is clean, and it casts out the pinched, slavish fear of man. If you would be truly safe until August 2028, and far beyond, cease clinging to the shadow and lay hold of the substance. Embrace whatever change He sends as the tool of His love, and you will find that the only unchanging good is Himself. Let your single prayer be for a heart so fixed on Christ that every alteration becomes a step toward the harbor where no storm enters. This is the answer to all your fear, and the only security worth seeking. Amen.
