John 8:10-11 (KJV)
10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
Oh, to be like Jesus.
Colossians 1:14-16 (KJV)
14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
The creator of this world and all the people in it. All transgressions and sin were against Jesus. And Jesus said to the woman that He does not condemn her and had asked her where her accusers were.
Romans 8:29 (KJV)
29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Our destiny on this earth is to become just like Jesus. So we need to ask ourselves what would Jesus do in a situation like this. What is an individual willing to risk? There definitely would need to be some boundaries set up.
I know that when we are born again and accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, He calls us friends even though our past lives were spent on transgressing against Him. And most likely our future lives will have times that we transgress against Him. But He keeps telling us we can do better and shows us through the Word of God the goals we are able to attain. He has already given us the tools to work with to accomplish those goals, which include the fruit of the Spirit and all spiritual blessings.
Anyway, it is a difficult situation. But if He wants to be a father and a husband then you and him need to talk, without accusations. The past cannot be changed or relived. The negative memories can be replaced by Jesus, with His grace and mercy, to better thoughts if we give them to Him.
What are we willing to risk to become like Jesus? Keeping our thoughts focused on the Lord will keep us in peace.
In the name of Jesus, I bless you with the life of God. I bless your husband with the life of God. Thank you Jesus.
