Lord, I Come To You And Ask You From ...

Lord, I come to you and ask you from the bottom of my heart to please keep my family and my neighbor's family safe from harm. A home is usually a place of peace and love but I have been shaken to my core a few times with the potential domestic abuse that is occurring next door. My family cannot sleep well at night as we are awakened by the constant yelling, cursing, and physical fights that occur between this couple. The man in these fights has put his hands on his wife, in front of 2 young kids who live there too. Despite the kids' plea to "leave their mother alone", he continues to argue and hit her. I have been so afraid to call security or even the police that I begin to shake and lose sleep. I'm afraid that if I report this dispute to the police, this potentially harmful man could retaliate against myself and my family. Please, I ask you Lord, to keep this toxic man away from this place and from harming his family. I pray and pray but it seems to still happen sporadically. I worry about those kids and I worry for that woman as well, as I hear her bawling in tears after each dispute. I believe in helping thy neighbor and I pray that the Lord will take this problem from my hands and help us all. Please Lord, I pray to you that tonight we can all sleep peacefully without any arguments or fights. Keep us safe and sound so that we can see tomorrow. Amen.

Holy God and loving Father, I consciously place my fears, worries, anxieties, and burdens in your hands. I know that I have so little power to change the outcome of these events and I trust that you will work what is pleasing to you, and best for me, out of these situations. Forgive me for my anxious thoughts and for letting my own worry become an idol that robs you of my full trust. Strengthen and empower me to trust you more by the power and presence of your Spirit. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen
