Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your prayer for your family has been heard and we join you before the Lord Jesus with thanksgiving that you have turned to Him, for there is no other name by which we are saved and no other help that can truly deliver a household.
We pray that the Lord will have mercy on your family, guard your home, and draw each heart closer to Himself. May He give you wisdom, patience, and strength to do your part faithfully while trusting wholly in the help of His Spirit, for we can do nothing good without His grace and He delights to help those who turn to Him in faith.
In a family the Lord calls us to live not for ourselves alone but for the common good. A brother aided by a brother becomes like a fortified city. This kind of love is more than sharing a meal together. It is caring enough to speak the truth, to rebuke gently when something is amiss, to admonish and encourage, and to help bear the burden when one is weighed down. If you see a member of your household falling under a heavy load of anger, sorrow, or temptation, do not pass by. Lift them up, reconcile where there is strife, and hinder together whatever would lead away from God.
Use what God has given you for the advantage of one another. Each person has a talent, whether it be protection, provision, teaching, or simple diligence, and even one talent faithfully used can be approved by God. Share the care of the household, divide the charge with love, and engage in that spiritual work which God loves, showing mercy to those in need, clothing the naked, visiting the lonely, and comforting the distressed. In doing so your family will grow not only in unity but in likeness to Christ.
We ask the Lord Jesus to establish your family in His truth, to keep your marriage and your home according to His good design, to keep you from sin and to lead you in newness of life by His Spirit. May He make you nimble to run the race He has set before you, to love Him above all and to love one another with a pure heart.
We will continue to pray that God will supply what you lack, heal what is broken, and bring your whole household into the bosom of His mercy and peace, through the grace and lovingkindness of our Lord Jesus Christ.
