We hear your deep distress and the burden you carry from these recurring dreams that trouble your spirit. First, we must address the authority by which we pray—only in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, do we have the power to stand against the schemes of the enemy. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is through His blood alone that we have victory over darkness. If you have not already, we urge you to surrender your life fully to Jesus, confessing Him as Lord, for it is only by His grace that we can resist the enemy and find true peace.
The dreams you describe—especially those involving the dead returning or unwanted relationships resurfacing—are not from God. Scripture is clear: "The dead do not praise Yahweh, nor do any who go down into silence" (Psalm 115:17). God does not bring back the dead in dreams or in reality, for death is the final separation until the resurrection (Hebrews 9:27). These dreams may be the work of the enemy, who seeks to torment and confuse, or they may stem from unresolved grief, fear, or even ungodly soul ties. We must take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5) and reject any dream or vision that does not align with His Word.
We rebuke, in the name of Jesus, every demonic assignment sent to harass you through these dreams. We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we break every ungodly soul tie or emotional attachment that may be giving the enemy legal ground to trouble you. The enemy has no authority over a child of God who stands firm in Christ. James 4:7 tells us, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." We stand with you in this resistance, declaring that these dreams will cease and that your mind will be guarded by the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
We also encourage you to examine your heart and any areas where fear, bitterness, or unforgiveness may linger. The enemy often exploits these to gain a foothold (Ephesians 4:26-27). If there are relationships or memories that need to be released to God, do so in prayer, trusting Him to heal and restore. Forgive those who have hurt you, even if they are no longer living, for unforgiveness only harms you (Mark 11:25). Lay every burden at the feet of Jesus, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You that You are a God of peace, not of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33), and that You desire to guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Lord, we lift up our brother/sister who is tormented by these dreams. We declare that every demonic assignment sent to harass them is broken and nullified by the blood of Jesus. We rebuke every spirit of fear, torment, and deception, and we command them to flee in Jesus’ name.
Father, we ask that You would cleanse their mind and fill them with Your peace. Guard their heart from all anxiety and fear, and let Your truth be a shield around them. We break every ungodly soul tie or emotional bond that may be giving the enemy access to their thoughts, and we declare that they are free in Christ. Lord, we ask that You would erase every trace of these dreams from their memory and replace them with visions of Your goodness and love. Let them dream of Your promises, of Your presence, and of the future You have for them.
We pray for healing over any grief, loss, or pain that may be fueling these dreams. Comfort them with Your love, and remind them that You are close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Help them to release every burden to You, trusting that You will carry it for them. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and that every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
Lord, we ask that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, who leads us into all truth (John 16:13). Let them walk in the light of Your Word, and may Your truth set them free (John 8:32). We thank You that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We trust You to bring an end to these dreams and to fill their nights with rest and peace.
In the name of Jesus, we declare that these dreams will not come to pass, and that every plan of the enemy against them is destroyed. We thank You for Your faithfulness, and we trust You to complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6). May they rise up in the authority You have given them as Your child, and may they walk in the freedom and victory that is theirs in Christ. Amen.
We encourage you to stand firm in your faith, knowing that God is greater than any dream or scheme of the enemy. Fill your mind with Scripture, meditate on His promises, and surround yourself with godly fellowship. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). You are not alone in this battle—we stand with you, and more importantly, the Lord of Hosts stands with you. Trust in Him, and He will renew your strength (Isaiah 40:31).
