Lord grant me this scripture

We join with you in seeking this powerful truth from God's Word and we thank you for reaching out to us to pray together.

The scripture upon your heart is found in 2 Kings 6:16 where Elisha answered his servant when they were surrounded by an army, Don't be afraid for those who are with us are more than those who are with them. In the next verse Elisha prayed that the servant's eyes would be opened to see the mountain full of horses and chariots of fire all around them. It is a beautiful reminder that what we see with our physical eyes is not the full reality of God's protection and power around us.

We also stand on kindred promises with you. Romans 8:31 says What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? And 1 John 4:4 declares You are of God, little children, and have overcome them because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. When fear or opposition feels overwhelming we can remember that the Lord of hosts Himself is for us and no enemy can stand against Him.

We want to gently encourage you that we come to the Father only through Jesus Christ. You asked of the Lord and we rejoice in your faith, and we want to be sure you know the fullness of this access. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 reminds us There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is only by believing on the name of Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are saved and have confident access to God's throne to receive His promises. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus as Savior and Lord.

We pray together now for you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. We thank You that You are for us and that those who are with us in Christ are more than any force that comes against us. We ask that You grant a deep revelation of this scripture, not just as words on a page but as living truth in the heart. Open spiritual eyes to see Your protection, Your angels, Your power surrounding us as You did for Elisha's servant. Grant peace in place of fear, courage in place of anxiety, and unwavering faith to trust that You are working for good. Fill this heart with the assurance that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. Draw this dear one closer to Jesus and let Your Word dwell richly within. We ask this according to Your perfect will in Jesus' name, amen.

We encourage you to dwell daily in this passage and its context in 2 Kings 6:15-17 and to meditate also on Romans 8:31 and Psalm 34:7 which says The angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them. Keep speaking this truth over your circumstances and trust that the Lord who is for you will never leave you nor forsake you.

We hear how much you want to hold onto that promise right now, that you are not outnumbered even when it feels that way. It makes sense to ask God to make that truth real to you, not just words on a page but something you can rest in when pressure rises.

We love that you named it so directly. That honesty is itself a prayer, and God hears it. When everything around you feels loud or stacked against you, remembering that He is present and for you can steady your heart more than trying to figure everything out at once.

One simple way to carry this with you this week might be to write that phrase in your own words on a small card and keep it where you will see it, and when worry comes, turn it into a brief prayer in your own voice, telling God you are trusting Him to be with you in that moment.

We are praying with you for that settled confidence to grow, day by day.

Father, thank You for being with our friend and for not leaving them to face what feels overwhelming alone. Make Your nearness real to them today, calm their heart, and help them sense Your care and strength around them. Lead them step by step and give them peace as they look to You. In Jesus name, amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

The scripture you have asked the Lord to grant you is a faithful and precious word, spoken first by Elisha to his trembling servant when the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire, Fear not, for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.

It is the same truth which the apostle sets forth in another form, If God is for us, who can be against us. Take these two sayings together and carry them in your bosom as a bundle of sweet spices to perfume your heart with peace and joy. God with us is exquisite delight. All that God means, the Infinite Jehovah, with us. God alone might well strike us with terror, but God with us inspires us with hope and confidence.

Yet we must remember that it is not every man who can truly say that God is on his side. By nature we are the friends of sin and God is against us with all the powers of justice, until we turn and repent. Sin banished man from God, and our face was turned from the Most High. There is no ground to claim that God is for us except through reconciliation by the death of His Son. Now Jehovah is not God against us, but God with us, for He has reconciled us to Himself by the death of His Son. In Christ, God the Father cannot be against us, and God the Son is most sweetly for us, lifting that face covered with bloody sweat and saying to every believer, I am for you.

When you are in Christ, then indeed they that are with you are more than all that can be against you. Let us beware of fighting against one who has God in league with him, for it is in vain to fight against God. If God determines your salvation, neither mortal nor infernal power shall prevail to destroy you. Errors which never could be confuted can be overthrown by God with us. Things impossible with men are possible with God. With the Lord's presence, what can be impossible, what can be even difficult for us.

Therefore, since God is with us, let us be with God. This is your watchword, Emmanuel, God with us. Walk humbly with your God, not only on the Sabbath but on every day, being with Him in common things. Power with God does not proceed from anything in us, but from something that is in God, and it is given to simple faith and to a conscience void of offense. Declare your ways to Him, hear His voice before you speak your own, and keep no known sin tolerated nor known duty neglected, for these deprive a man of power upon his knees.

We pray for you that the Lord will not only give you the text upon your lips, but write it upon your heart by His Spirit, that you may see with opened eyes the heavenly host round about you, and know in your deepest trouble the comforts which prove that the Lord your God is with you. May He grant you to live with this upon your heart as a dying saint once had it upon his tongue, The best of all is God with us, and to find that because He is for you, none can finally stand against you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your request for the assurance that those who are for us are more than those against us is heard, and we join you in prayer for this confidence from Scripture.

The Lord does not leave His people without comfort when they feel surrounded or opposed. The Scripture you are holding onto is true. As Elisha prayed for his servant, so we pray for you, that God would open your eyes to see that those who are with us are more than those who are with our enemies, and that Christ Himself has sat down at the right hand of God, expecting until His enemies are put under His feet. That promise reminds us that the victory is already secured and that no opposition can overcome those who belong to Him.

We pray that God will grant you a deep and settled faith in this truth, that you would not be shaken by fear or by the presence of adversaries, but would rest in the power of Christ who reigns even in the midst of His enemies. May He fill you with courage, peace, and a love that even prays for those who oppose you, as Christ has taught us to love and to seek the good of all.

May the Lord strengthen your heart to trust Him more fully, to remember His faithful presence each day, and to live in the confidence that He is for you and will never forsake you.
