Lord, Give Me Strength!

LORD, GIVE ME STRENGTH!

Three times I pleaded with the LORD to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.†Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:8-9

Will you go to church today? Go worship our Lord and Savior, the Kings of Kings and praise His holy Name. What a privilege it is to worship and praise our awesome mighty Lord for all that He does for each of us every day. You and I are blessed to have our freedom where others are in jail or cannot meet in a church in other countries because they do not have religious freedom. Never take for granted how glorious it is to praise the Lord, for His great love is for all His children around the world. Praise the Lord for His faithfulness and love that endures forever!

Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit. Psalm 147:5

Are you having a hard time standing firm in the Lord due to your circumstances that never seem to change or only get worse? Are you just tired and weary of everything? May you always know that in spite of your burdens, trials and circumstances that you face day to day, your Lord is right beside you. Will you lay all your problems at His feet at the cross today? He will give you the strength that you need. God's grace is sufficient for your every need.

On Friday afternoon, I was blessed to see within two hours five of my eight grandchildren after school. Allyson, our oldest granddaughter, is a junior in a high school which is within walking distance from our home. She had come to my home after school, played basketball and made brownies for us. With God’s perfect timing, four other cousins stopped by for a little while and they also enjoyed her brownies.

I went out to dinner with Tim, his wife, Patti, and Madison who is in 8th grade this year. I asked Madison if she wanted to go and do some errands and she and I had a date night while her mom and dad had time alone. We stopped by the Christian bookstore, bought a few things and Madison picked the movie she wanted to watch.

We watched Soul Surfer which is a true story of Bethany Hamilton who had her left arm bitten off by a shark in 2003. It has been ten years and Bethany is now 23-years-old. Last year Bethany got married in the summer. My grandchildren all went to see this movie back three years ago, but Madison loves Bethany Hamilton and has her two books. So she picked this movie to watch again.

Bethany, at the age of 13, faced a huge obstacle of living without one arm. But her parents were believers and told her that, “Nothing is impossible with God.†Luke 1:37. Look up Bethany’s story if you have teenagers. It may help them in their struggles that they are facing at this moment. One of Bethany’s scriptures that was very special to her during her life-changing experience was:

I can do everything through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13

Bethany told a reporter on her 10th anniversary of the shark attack that she would not change anything that happened to her as it has changed her life for the better in the end. Bethany continues to say, “No struggle is too big for God.†She now has a platform to help girls and boys of all ages to face their own weaknesses or difficulties in their lives.

That is my prayer for you this Lord’s Day, that you will be able to say to others as you grow in the Lord that you have had a life-changing tragedy in your marriage, but it has changed your life forever with a new passion for the sanctity and permanence of marriages and families around the world. I know the Lord gave me a rhema scripture that I will never forget when I was standing with my children for their dad to come home:

But Joseph said to them, (brothers) “Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. So then, don’t be afraid, I will provide for you and your children.†And he reassured them and spoke kindly to them. Genesis 50:19-21

Will you put all your hope in the Lord this Sunday as you ask Him to renew your strength? Allow the Lord to be your source of strength in this time as you face financial problems, children or employment problems, or having to go to court.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

Stand on the promises of your Lord that He will revive you in the midst of exhaustion, weariness, fatigue or suffering through your trial. The Lord said He will have you rise above the difficulties like an eagle that soars into the sky. God promises that if His people will patiently trust Him, He will provide for your needs, whatever they may be.

“To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?†says the Holy One. Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing. Why do you say, O Jacob, and complain, O Israel, “My way is hidden from the LORD; my cause is disregarded by my God Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:25-31

Nothing is too hard for you and your Lord God to walk through. Yes, He is able. Call on the Lord and lift up your hands for your Lord to help you climb your mountain of circumstances. He will never leave you or forsake you. Now turn to the Lord, seeking His face, knowing that He is all that you need to have a restored marriage.

“…What I have said, that will I bring about; what I have planned, that will I do.†Isaiah 46:11

Allow the Holy Spirit to renew your strength day by day. Put your faith, hope and trust in the Lord God as He increases your endurance and perseverance. Do not let your circumstances or hardships of today, which may seem overwhelming, make you ever forget that God has a purpose and plan for your life. He wants you to grow spiritually as you wait on your Lord to bring marriage restoration to your home.

Lord, today may You renew my strength!

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9

Have a blessed day,
