Lord, Give Me Knowledge!

LORD, GIVE ME KNOWLEDGE!

Teach me knowledge and good judgment, for I believe in your commands. Psalm 119:66

If the Lord came to you and distinctly told you what His plan was for you, your spouse and family, would you do it? I am asking if you are willing to be like a Noah, a Moses, a Joshua, a Jonah, a Mary, or a Paul? I believe He is asking you to pray and stand for your marriage. I know that God created marriage and He hates divorce.

I pray that you have a journal where you are writing down regularly "Godincidences," where you know the Lord has spoken to your heart or given you a sign or a scripture that leaps off the page answering a question that you have been praying about or giving you instructions. You need wisdom, but you also need knowledge.

"...My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge." Hosea 4:6

Do you know for certain that you are to pray and never give up on your spouse and your marriage? I pray that this month, as you prepare your heart for Thanksgiving, the Lord will give you wisdom, knowledge and understanding about marriage restoration for your spouse.

You and your spouse may have or have had marriage problems due to many reasons, circumstances, even different personalities, temperaments, or neither of you have learned how to pray for healing of your marriage. Now your marriage is in critical condition or many would say dead! I pray that you will stop asking questions and listening to your family or loved ones, your church and counselors, but instead seek the One and only One who knows the truth about your future which is your Lord God and the Holy Spirit. You need wisdom, but you also need knowledge. Let's learn how to gain knowledge by learning principles and precepts from the Bible.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. Proverbs 1:7

What is knowledge? The dictionary meaning reads as: the act, fact, or state of knowing; awareness, understanding, acquaintance with facts; range of information; all that has been perceived or grasped by the mind; learning; enlightenment; the body of facts, principles, etc. accumulated by mankind.

Wow! I love looking up the meaning of words. It magnifies and helps explain what the true meaning of the word is saying to us, especially in scriptures. You need to go to the Lord and start gaining knowledge on how to restore and how to have a blessed marriage.

My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2:1-6

I need you to know, that after I divorced Bob, the Lord spoke to my heart in a church service months after the divorce, showing me that I made a huge mistake by divorcing Bob. I had given up first on God and then on Bob, regardless of our marriage problems or Bob's sinful behavior. I was looking at the circumstances and not believing or trusting in my Lord God, who can do anything! I had allowed my marriage to be destroyed because of my lack of knowledge of what to do to rebuild my marriage.

"For nothing is impossible with God." Luke 1:37

That day in church, the Lord told me my assignment for life was to stand in the gap for my husband's soul, his returning to the Lord, returning to his family and that the Lord would restore our marriage to be better than ever before. I knew that I knew, that the Lord had told me that I was to wait on the Lord for marriage restoration. God had spoken to my heart and He was going to give me knowledge of how to complete the task. Just as He told Noah how to build the ark or Nehemiah to rebuild the Jerusalem wall!

Your Lord God is sovereign, omnipresent and omniscient. These words are big, but awesome in knowing how powerful and awesome your Lord is. Your Lord God, who created the heavens and earth, created you and has perfect knowledge about you and your circumstances. He is always with you and His thoughts are always directed toward you in every situation. He knows all you do from the beginning of your day to the end.

Read Psalm 139 to be encouraged in how much your Lord loves you. He created you and has a plan and purpose for your life, even now while you are going through this present crisis in your marriage. He is wanting to help you, to give you wisdom and knowledge. Call on Him for His help.

O LORD, you have searched me and you know me...You hem me in - behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. Psalm 139:1, 5-6

I pray that you have been challenged to want to know more about love and marriage throughout the Bible by reading, studying and gaining knowledge. God uses His Word to teach us about love, marriage, finances, health, family problems, forgiveness, eternal life, spiritual warfare and so many other topics. You can live and learn how to be victorious over sin with God's principles, precepts, His commands and His Word in your heart. You must study to gain wisdom, knowledge and insight. Then you must pray, seeking and asking the Holy Spirit to transform and intervene supernaturally in both you and your spouse's lives.

The scripture below says it all, and can be turned into a beautiful personal prayer for you and your husband or wife.

For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:9-14
