Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart so honestly and for bringing your family before the Lord. Your desire for forgiveness, for healing, and for God to provide for your brother and his family is precious to Him, and He hears when we call on the name of Jesus.
The greatest need any of us has is forgiveness of sin, and Scripture is clear that God has made only one provision for that forgiveness, through the blood of His Son Jesus Christ. There is no other way for sin to be put away. When we acknowledge our sin before Him and turn to Jesus in faith, His forgiveness is complete and total. It is not like our human forgiveness where we say we forgive but still hold on to the offense. When God forgives, He cleanses fully and declares us righteous in Christ, and His Spirit bears witness to our hearts that this is true. If we refuse that one provision, there remains no other hope, but when we come to Jesus, we can know that we are fully forgiven and have eternal life. That salvation is the greatest miracle of all, far greater even than physical healing, because it secures our eternity with Him.
You also asked for healing for your grandmother, your mom and dad, your brother, and for neurological restoration for your whole family. The Lord is able to heal, and we see in Scripture that He heals in many different ways. Sometimes He touches and heals instantly, sometimes healing comes gradually over time, and sometimes He works through the natural processes of healing He Himself placed within our bodies, which are still His divine work. We also learn that we cannot presume He will heal in every case in the way we ask, as we see with Paul who prayed three times for his thorn in the flesh and the Lord chose to answer with grace and strength instead of removal. So we bring every sickness and every need for restoration to Him with confidence, asking for His mercy, while trusting His wisdom and love to do what is best. He cares about every detail of your life, even practical needs like a home for your brother and his family and the chair you mentioned. He is a Father who provides, guides, and gives wisdom as we seek Him.
In Christ we also become part of a new family, the family of God. The bond we have with others who follow Jesus can be even deeper than blood ties, because it is a bond through His Spirit and through shared forgiveness and life in Him. That does not diminish love for our own families, but it means we have brothers and sisters in the Lord who can stand with us, pray with us, and walk with us.
Let us pray together. Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and thank You that forgiveness is offered only through Him. We ask that each person in this family would know that complete forgiveness and salvation, and would experience the assurance Your Spirit gives. We ask for Your healing touch upon this grandmother, upon mom and dad, upon the brother and upon every mind and brain in this family, according to Your will, whether instantly, gradually, or through Your sustaining grace. Provide the best home for this brother and his family and meet every practical need, including this chair, as You see fit. Draw this whole family closer to Yourself and to one another, and help them to know the love and fellowship of Your family. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our only hope. Amen.
