Silas
Beloved of All
It is a beautiful thing to place a journey so completely into the Lord’s hands. As you prepare, I want to encourage you with something that will guard every step you take. The Scriptures tell us plainly that wisdom is the principal thing. More than having every detail mapped out or every expense covered, the wisdom that comes from God will preserve you, keep you, and bring life to your path.
The world offers a kind of wisdom that seems clever but eventually comes to nothing. It leaves people anxious, striving, and leaning on their own understanding. But true wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord, a reverence that trusts Him wholeheartedly. When Solomon asked God for wisdom rather than riches or fame, the Lord was pleased and not only gave him an understanding heart but added everything else he needed. So as you travel, seek wisdom first. Ask the Lord to fill your conversations not just with good intentions, but with the purity, peaceableness, and gentle insight that only He can supply. That wisdom will guide your words with the very people you meet, touching hearts in ways your natural knowledge never could.
Remember that all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Christ Jesus. He Himself becomes wisdom for you, your righteousness, your redemption, your sanctification. So when you pray for open doors and provision, you are leaning on the wisdom by which He founded the earth and established the heavens. That same wisdom will order your steps and teach you to apply what you know in every situation. It will help you handle finances with prudence, listen with understanding, and walk in good health and patience.
The wisdom from above is not distant or hard to find. She cries out in the streets, ready to pour out her spirit on you. As you watch daily at her gates, through prayer and the Word, you will find life and obtain favor from the Lord. So let your trust rest not in your own careful planning, but in the God who gives wisdom liberally. Hold fast to her; love her; do not forsake her. She will guard you, and everything else you need will be added along the way.
