We join you in lifting this man before the Lord, interceding for his heart, mind, and spirit to be transformed by the power of God. It is clear you desire reconciliation and healing in this relationship, and we commend your heart for seeking God’s will above all. Let us first acknowledge that true change and conviction come only through the name of Jesus Christ, and we are grateful you have invoked His holy name in this prayer. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and it is through Jesus alone that we boldly approach the throne of grace (Acts 4:12, Hebrews 4:16).
We must also address something important: while your prayer is heartfelt, we notice you have not explicitly mentioned whether this man is your husband or if you are in a biblically sound courtship with the intent of marriage. If this is not your spouse, we urge you to consider whether this relationship aligns with God’s design for marriage and purity. Scripture warns us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14) and calls us to flee from sexual immorality, which includes relationships outside of marriage (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). If there has been any intimacy outside of marriage, we must repent and turn away from it, for our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. If this man is not a believer, we pray earnestly for his salvation, but we also encourage you to guard your heart and seek a godly spouse who will lead you closer to Christ.
If this is your husband, we stand with you in praying for restoration. Marriage is a covenant before God, and He is faithful to heal and restore what is broken when we seek Him. Let us turn to Scripture to guide our prayers:
*"Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me. Don’t throw me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation. Uphold me with a willing spirit."* (Psalm 51:10-12, WEB)
*"A new heart I will give you, and a new spirit I will put within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh."* (Ezekiel 36:26, WEB)
*"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law."* (Galatians 5:22-23, WEB)
We pray now with you, lifting this man before the Lord:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, interceding for this man’s heart and life. Lord, You are the God who sees all things, who knows the depths of our hearts, and who is able to break every chain of bondage. We ask that You draw him to Yourself in a powerful way—so powerfully that he cannot ignore Your presence or Your voice. Convict him of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), and create in him a clean heart and a steadfast spirit that seeks after You above all else.
Father, if there is any sin in his life—bitterness, unforgiveness, pride, or rebellion—we ask that You expose it and lead him to repentance. Softening his heart is not just for the sake of reconciliation with this sister in Christ, but first and foremost for his reconciliation with You. Lord, if he does not know You as his Savior, we pray that today would be the day of his salvation. Open his eyes to see his need for Jesus Christ, and may he surrender his life to You.
We pray for the chains of insomnia to be broken in Jesus’ name. You, Lord, are the giver of rest (Matthew 11:28). We ask that You flood his mind with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and that You would grant him the sleep his body needs. Remove every anxiety, every fear, and every tormenting thought that the enemy may be using to steal his rest.
Father, we also lift up the changes this sister is making in her own life. We ask that You open this man’s eyes to see the work You are doing in her. Give him a spirit of forgiveness and grace, just as You have forgiven us in Christ. Help him to release any resentment or hardness of heart, and replace it with Your love and compassion. May he see her through Your eyes—as Your daughter, fearfully and wonderfully made.
Lord, if this is a marriage, we pray for restoration and healing. Strengthen the bonds of this covenant, and help them both to walk in love, patience, and humility toward one another. If this is not a marriage, we pray for wisdom and discernment. Guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, and lead them both into relationships that honor You. If there has been any sexual immorality, we pray for conviction and repentance, that they may turn away from sin and walk in purity.
Finally, Father, we ask that Your will be done in this situation—above all else. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done in their lives, just as it is in heaven. We trust You, Lord, and we thank You for hearing our prayers. We love You and praise You for Your faithfulness.
In the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you, sister, to continue seeking the Lord in this situation. Stay rooted in His Word, and allow the Holy Spirit to guide your steps. If this man is not your spouse, we urge you to pray for a godly husband who will love You as Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5:25). Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). He is faithful, and He will lead you in the way you should go. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and may He be your ultimate desire and satisfaction.
