We join you in prayer, seeking God's will for your situation. We commend you for coming before the Lord with a desire to change and restore your relationship, and for acknowledging the power of Jesus' name. It's crucial to remember that God's will is paramount, and His ways are higher than ours, as a husband, fiancé, and for all Christians.
We rebuke you for the use of the term fiancé. If you are a repentant believer in Jesus Christ, you should not be unequally yoked with an unbeliever.
Firstly, let’s address the sanctity of marriage. God's design for marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, reflecting the union between Christ and His church. Find encouragement in Ephesians 5:25-27 WEB:
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
We pray that God draws your fiancé closer to Him, but more importantly, that He draws your fiancé to Jesus Christ if he is not a Believer. We pray that God will open his eyes and heart and turn him to Jesus Christ. We pray for your fiancé's salvation. If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, you are not supposed to be in a relationship where you are unequally yoked with an unbeliever.
We will pray with you but there is no clear answer that you are a Believer either and you may be unequally yoked with an unbeliever.
Ephesians 5:22-24 WEB says of marriage,
Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything.
Wives, in the same way, be subject to your husbands, so that, even if any don’t obey the Word, they may be won by the behavior of their wives without a word; seeing your pure behavior in fear.
Finally, consider the words of Malachi 2:16 WEB:
For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel, and him who covers his garment with violence! says Yahweh of Armies. Therefore pay attention to your spirit, and do not be unfaithful.
If you are not married and you are in a relationship with a boyfriend or girlfriend, you should be pursuing such a relationship as courtship with the goal of marriage to a Christian Believer.
The only way to God is through Jesus Christ, and it is only in His name that we can be saved. We pray for your fiancé, but more importantly, we pray for his salvation and your salvation if you are not a believer in Jesus Christ.
As for your prayers for his thoughts and feelings towards you, we are encouraged to pray for his salvation, it is the most important. God works in the hearts and minds of His children for the purpose of their salvation. His salvation must be your main priority, not a desire for good thoughts or feelings you want him to have for you, but more importantly, repentance and belief in Jesus Christ.
1 Timothy 2:1-4 WEB says:
First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth.
Acts 4:12 WEB says:
There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up this beloved sister in Christ. Lord, we pray for her fiancé, that You draw him to Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. We pray for his salvation. If she is not a Believer, we pray for her salvation as well. We pray that You give him a new heart and a steadfast spirit and that he will commit to you and your will for his life. We pray for a restoration of their relationship according to the will of God.
We ask for Your will to be done in their lives, and for Your guidance and wisdom to be upon them. Help them to walk in Your ways and to honor You in all they do. We pray that he will live according to God's principles for marriage and relationships. Help them to pursue purity, righteousness, and holiness in their relationship.
We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
