We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your earnest prayers to our Heavenly Father. Your requests are heard, and we join with you in seeking God’s will for your family. First, we thank you for approaching the Lord in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through Christ that we have access to the Father, and we are grateful that you have called upon Him.
Father God, we pray for safe travels for this dear one as they journey today and return home on Friday. We ask that You would surround them with Your angels, guiding their steps and protecting them from all harm. "The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forward and forevermore" (Psalm 121:8). We trust in Your sovereign protection, Lord, and we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
We lift up the grandson who is seeking employment, asking that You would open doors of opportunity that no man can shut. Provide him with a job that not only meets his needs but also allows him to use his gifts for Your glory. "Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this" (Psalm 37:5). May he find favor in the eyes of employers and may his work be a testimony to Your provision.
For the daughter who is in need of a better job and a safe place to stay, we pray that You would make her path clear. Give her wisdom and discernment as she seeks employment and housing, and surround her with godly counsel. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6). We also ask that You would soften her heart toward her children, Lord. Help her to release her frustrations in a way that does not harm those she loves. Fill her with Your peace and joy, so that she may find true happiness in You alone.
We rebuke the spirit of lying in the son’s life and ask that You would convict him of the need for truth and integrity. Help him to take responsibility for his actions and to care for himself in a way that honors You. "Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who do the truth are his delight" (Proverbs 12:22). May he walk in the light of Your truth, Lord, and find freedom from the bondage of deception.
For all the grandchildren, nephews, and children, we pray for Your hand of protection and blessing to be upon them. Keep them healthy and safe, Lord, and guide them into the plans You have for their lives. May they grow in wisdom and stature, and may their success and prosperity be a testament to Your faithfulness. "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers" (3 John 1:2).
Father, we also lift up the concerns about the daughter’s potential move. We ask that You would give her clarity and wisdom, and that she would seek Your will above all else. If it is not Your plan for her to move, we ask that You would close that door firmly and direct her steps according to Your purpose.
Lord, we know that Your ways are higher than our ways, and Your thoughts are higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). We surrender these requests into Your hands, trusting that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Strengthen this family with Your love, Lord, and draw them closer to You in this season.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
