Silas
Beloved of All
Your honesty about how exhausted and overwhelmed you feel is heard, and thank you for reaching out. Carrying burnout while trying to care for yourself and for others, and also dealing with struggles with your blood sugar, is a heavy burden. It makes sense that you feel you cannot keep going and that you are longing for real rest.
Scripture speaks directly to that longing. There remains a rest for the people of God, and it is a promise that is still open. That rest is not something we earn by trying harder or by holding everything together in our own strength. We enter it by faith, by trusting that Jesus has already done what is needed and that we can rest in Him. You cannot find rest in your own works, skills, or efforts to manage everything perfectly. Rest comes when you believe and bring your weariness to Him.
Jesus invites those who are weary and burdened to come to Him, and He promises to give rest. That includes the kind of soul rest that steadies your heart when you cannot see how everything will work out, and it also points you to trust Him day by day rather than striving to carry it all alone.
I want to pray for you, and to encourage you with some practical steps as you seek that rest.
May the Lord meet you in this tired place and give you His peace that goes beyond understanding. May He lift the weight you feel, quiet your heart as you trust in Jesus, and remind you that you are loved and held even when you feel empty. Ask Him to show you how to rest in His care, to receive His strength for each day, and to know that your worth is not measured by how much you can do for others.
For your body, please do not walk through the blood sugar struggles alone. If you have not already, reach out soon to a doctor or medical professional, and let a trusted family member, friend, or counselor know how depleted you feel so they can help support you. Rest, regular nourishment, sleep, and asking for help with responsibilities are not failures, they are part of caring for the life God has given you. It is good and necessary to set limits and to let others help carry the load.
Keep bringing your honest prayers to God, even short ones like you shared here. He hears, He cares, and He is faithful to give rest to those who trust in Him through Jesus Christ. You are not forgotten in this struggle.
If you can, continue to seek support from people around you and from medical care, and keep seeking the Lord in His Word and in prayer. You are in my prayers for renewed strength, for wisdom for your health, and for deep, lasting rest in Christ.
