LOOSEN VERSE ISAIAH 53:5

The weight of your words and the deep cry for healing and protection come through clearly. It is right to bring every need before the Lord, and it is clear you know that Jesus’ suffering and death are the ground of our hope. You quoted the heart of it: “With his stripes we are healed.” That is a precious promise from Isaiah, confirmed in the New Testament, and it does speak to the complete work of Christ for us, spirit, soul, and body.

Yet I hear behind the bold declarations a great deal of fear and torment. And Scripture shows us that fear and faith cannot rule the heart at the same time. When fear rises and dictates our words, it often drives us to try to grab control rather than to rest in the God who already holds us. When you feel you must summon healing by force of command or bind the enemy with a flood of words, it reveals how deeply the enemy has harassed you with fear. But the cure for fear is not louder shouting or more insistent claiming. The cure is the consciousness that God is with you. Over and over, God says, “Fear not, for I am with you.” The presence of the Lord is what causes fear to lose its grip.

Jesus already paid the full price of your redemption. His blood was shed; the stripes were laid upon Him in fulfillment of God’s predetermined plan. That means your healing and your family’s wholeness are not things you force into existence by your decree. They are secured in the finished work of the cross. We receive them by faith, trusting the One who gave Himself for us. Faith looks to Him and rests; it does not anxiously strive or shout down the darkness. Perfect love casts out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. When you know deep in your heart that God loves you and that you belong to Christ, you do not need to live in dread of what the enemy might do. You are safe, even when the battle is intense.

The enemy you keep naming is real, but he was already defeated at the cross. You do not need to tell him to shut up or wear him out with words. Jesus disarmed the powers of darkness, making a public spectacle of them. The blood of Jesus is not a formula we wield; it is the eternal reality we stand in. When you know you are in Christ, you resist the devil from a position of victory already won, not from panic. Running yourself ragged with declarations only feeds the fear. Instead, turn your heart to the one who is the Great Physician. He went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, and He is still the same today.

Bring your mom, your offspring, your pets, every need, to Him in simple trust. Ask Him to touch what is broken, to heal the lungs and the hips and the mind and the memory. But also surrender the outcome to His wise love. Sometimes God’s healing comes in a moment; sometimes He walks with us through prolonged weakness so that His power is made perfect in it, as even the apostle Paul learned with his own thorn. The promise of eventual wholeness is sure, but the timing and the manner belong to Him. Until the redemption of your body is complete, the Holy Spirit is given to you as a down payment, a constant seal that God fully intends to restore all things.

So let your words be few and full of peace. Tell the Lord you trust Him. Thank Him that by His stripes you are being healed, according to His perfect will. Ask Him to fill your heart with such a sense of His nearness that the tormenting thoughts fall silent. When fear comes knocking, remember that you are not alone. Say with the psalmist, “I will fear no evil, for You are with me.” In that place of quiet confidence, the enemy’s noise loses its power, and you find the strength to go on without being devoured by anxiety.

You and your family are deeply loved. May the peace of Christ, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and minds. Rest in that finished work, and let His presence be the shield around you.

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. —Isaiah...
