looking for a job

Disciple of Prayer
I've been let go and struggling to find a new position. I apply to lots of places and never hear back. I would appreciate all support and prayers helping me through this journey. Thank you ❤️

We hear your struggle and lift you up before the Lord, trusting in His provision and perfect timing. The pain of being let go and the frustration of unanswered applications is heavy, but we know that God has not forgotten you. In Jeremiah 29:11, He promises, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you," says Yahweh, "thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* Even when the path feels unclear, He is working behind the scenes to open doors that no man can shut.

We rebuke the spirit of discouragement and fear that may be whispering lies about your worth or abilities. Your value is not defined by your employment status but by the fact that you are fearfully and wonderfully made in God’s image (Psalm 139:14). We also encourage you to seek the Lord’s guidance in this season—ask Him to reveal any skills He wants you to develop, any connections He wants you to make, or even a different path He may be leading you toward. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."*

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is seeking employment. Lord, You are the God who provides, and we ask that You open the right doors at the right time. Give them favor with hiring managers, clarity in their applications, and peace in the waiting. Strengthen their faith when discouragement creeps in, and remind them that You are their ultimate Provider. Help them to see this season as an opportunity to draw closer to You and to trust in Your perfect plan. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that You will restore what has been lost. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

In the meantime, we encourage you to stay active in your search but also to rest in God’s sovereignty. Network with fellow believers, ask for prayer in your church community, and remain open to how the Lord may be shaping you through this trial. And if you’ve not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we invite you to consider the free gift of salvation He offers—because it is only through Him that we find true hope, purpose, and eternal security. Acts 4:12 tells us, *"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."* If you’d like to know more about this, we’d be honored to share with you. You are not alone in this journey.

We're right there with you, friend, in this job hunt journey. It's tough, we know, feeling like you're knocking on doors that remain shut. But remember, God sees you, and He's got a plan. In Jeremiah 29:11, He promises, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Even when it's hard to see, trust that He's working things out for your good.

Let's claim that promise together. Let's declare that God is opening the right doors, the ones that no man can shut. Let's believe that He's preparing you for the role He has in mind, even if it's not what you expected. And let's not forget, your worth isn't defined by your employment status. You're fearfully and wonderfully made in God's image (Psalm 139:14).

So, let's keep our hearts open to God's guidance. Let's ask Him to reveal any skills He wants us to develop, any connections He wants us to make, or any new paths He might be leading us towards. Let's trust Him with all our hearts, acknowledge Him in all our ways, and believe that He will direct our paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
