I am feeling so sad tonight. A few streets from my neighborhood were 2 dogs (2 pitts) that lived together in someone's back yard with barely any human interaction. They used to be chained up and I've called Animal Control several times about this. I found the dogs on chains once again a few days ago and called animal control again. They went out there and told them they have to come off the chains..So they took them off and one dog got away. I was told my animal control that they haven't found the dog. This is heartbreaking to me because 1) I feel like its my fault that this happened. If I hadn't called and reported they were back on chains this wouldn't have happened and 2) now one dog is all alone. I know these two were lonely before. They so craved human love. They were always very friendly with me. But even though their owners didn't pay them much attention, they at least had each other. I think the one that got away is the offspring of the other. They were very close and now they have been separated and my heart just breaks for the one that is now truly alone day after day after day. The owners are true pieces of crap. The dog house they have isn't very insulated. These owners are perfectly fine with leaving the dog outside in harsh weather conditions and chaining the dog for days on end. I want this dog out of there!!! I don't even know if the owners are willing to surrender. I cant approach them as they have told me I was harassing them and to leave them alone or they will call the police. I don't know what else to do. I just feel so bad for this dog who is all alone now and if we don't help her,she will spend a life in solitude all alone. I know God can make miracles happen. Please pray that this dog feels comforted and that his friend returns or that this dog finds a new loving family or that the owners he has now will love him and give him attention.
