We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles you are facing in your marriage. It is heartbreaking to see a spouse turn away from God and from the sacred covenant of marriage. Remember, marriage is a lifelong commitment, and it is essential to fight for it in a godly manner.
Firstly, it is crucial to understand that you cannot change your husband's heart, but God can. Continue to pray fervently for his salvation and for God to soften his heart. As it says in Ezekiel 36:26 WEB, "A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh."
In dealing with his unkind behavior, remember the words of 1 Peter 3:1-2 WEB, "In like manner, wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; so that, even if any don't obey the Word, they may be won by the behavior of their wives without a word; seeing your pure behavior in fear." Your loving and godly response can be a powerful testimony to him.
However, we must also address the boundaries of acceptable behavior. If his actions are causing you harm, it is important to seek support and protection. While you are called to love and pray for him, you are not called to endure abuse.
In dealing with loneliness, cast your cares upon the Lord, for He cares for you. Psalm 34:18 WEB tells us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up this dear sister in Christ who is struggling in her marriage. Lord, we ask that You intervene and soften her husband's heart. Turn his heart back towards You and towards his wife. Give her the strength and wisdom to respond to his unkindness with love and grace. Protect her from harm and provide for her every need. Comfort her in her loneliness, and let her feel Your loving presence in her life. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
