Insomnia
A Glorious Rest
A Tempted Saviour-Our Best Succour
We join with you in prayer for the gift of restful sleep and for the Lord's protection over you and your loved ones this weekend.

We hear your weariness and your desire to rest well while trusting the Lord to fight your battles, and that is a biblical and blessed posture to take. Scripture reminds us that sleep itself is a gift from God and not something we must strive anxiously to obtain. Psalm 127:2 says It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil, for he gives sleep to his loved ones. And Psalm 4:8 gives us a beautiful prayer for the night, In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety.

Our Lord Jesus invites us into that rest. He says in Matthew 11:28-30 Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. When we lie awake our minds often rehearse our battles, but God calls us to cast those burdens on Him. 1 Peter 5:7 tells us to be casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. And Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

You prayed for Him to fight your battles, and that is exactly what He promises to do. Exodus 14:14 declares Yahweh will fight for you, and you shall be still. Our part is to be still and to trust, His part is to watch over us without slumber, for He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep as Psalm 121:4 says.

We pray together now for you.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace and lift up this dear one who is weary from little sleep. Lord, You know the body You created and its need for rest, and we ask that You would grant deep, peaceful, and restorative sleep. Quiet the racing thoughts and anxious heart, and let Your perfect peace guard this mind and heart. We cast every care and every battle into Your mighty hands, trusting that You are fighting for us even as we sleep. Forgive us when we try to carry burdens You never intended us to carry alone. Bless and protect this weekend, Lord. Surround this home with Your angels, keep all from harm, and let Your presence be felt as a shield and comfort. Provide all the help that is needed according to Your riches in glory, and awaken this one refreshed, strengthened, and renewed to serve You with joy. We thank You that You are our refuge and our rest. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus we pray, amen.

We hear how tired you must be right now and how much you are longing for real rest. Going without sleep makes everything harder, and it makes sense you would ask Jesus to fight for you when you feel worn down.

We love that you brought your weekend and your need for protection and help directly to Him. God designed sleep as a gift, a third of our lives, and He knows how deeply our bodies and spirits need that restoration to know His peace. When rest is broken it affects us in every way.

If this lack of sleep keeps happening, we encourage you to reach out to your doctor or clinic to talk it through, alongside continuing in prayer. You do not have to carry this alone, and getting another caring perspective can be a good next step while we keep praying with you.

We are standing with you for this weekend, asking for quiet nights and renewed strength.

Father, we bring our friend to You in Jesus name. You see their weariness and You know the battles they are facing. We ask You to grant deep, peaceful rest, to watch over them and those they love this weekend, and to bring Your help in the ways only You can. Give wisdom for next steps and let them sense Your nearness and care. In Jesus name, amen.

Your cry for rest has been heard, and we bring it before the throne of grace with you. The Lord knows what it is to be weary and wakeful, and His word declares a precious promise, so He giveth His beloved sleep.

That sleep is not merely the closing of the eyes, but the sleep of contentment and the sleep of security which God gives to His own children. When the heart is stayed upon Christ, there is a rest which the world cannot give, for the soul finds its pillow in His faithful care. Though you lie wakeful and weary, remember Him who once slept in the vessel amid the howling winds and roaring waves, calm in perfect confidence in His Father. He seemed indifferent, yet His care for His people never slumbered, and when His disciples cried, He arose to rebuke the storm.

We pray that the Lord will grant you this peculiar sleep of the beloved in these nights to come, that He will recruit your exhausted strength and refresh your frame and mind, that you may awake fitted for fresh service. We ask Him to fight your battles for you, for the battle is not yours but the Lord's, and He would have His people restful and not fretful. May He keep watch over you and over all whom you love this weekend, may His protecting hand cover your going out and your coming in, and may He bring you all the help which His infinite mercy has to bestow.

Cast all your care upon Him, for He careth for you. Let your heart rest in Jesus, and you shall yet say, now may I sleep, for so He giveth His beloved sleep. May the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, keep your heart and mind through Christ Jesus, and may you find your rest even in Him. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
