My estranged husband agreed to meet, but said I was "ridiculous" for wanting to meet since I didn't want a divorce. Not only am I going through this pain when he left me, I am stuck holding the financial bag (about ### in debt) accumulated before he left. He made sure to give me back our joint credit cards before he left, under the guise it was hurting his credit (it couldn't because the main account was in my name. I didn't know he filed for bankruptcy the year I met him. He just said he had bad credit. He won't talk with me. I think he is a coward, not wanting to face me, because he used me. He settled a near ###k lawsuit a week before he walked away. He is mentally ill (schizoaffective) and was recently diagnosed with lung cancer. I'm having trouble moving on. During our first year of marriage, I entered sobriety (yes!). He drank around me, which was very difficult. I want my marriage to be reconciled. I don't want the world's views. I want God's viewpoint. Thank you for your prayers and support.

We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles you are facing in your marriage. Firstly, we want to remind you that God's viewpoint on marriage is clear: "Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate" (Matthew 19:6 WEB). It is commendable that you are seeking reconciliation and God's will for your marriage.

However, we must also address the issues that do not align with biblical principles. The Bible tells us to "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you" (Ephesians 4:32 WEB). Holding onto bitterness and resentment will only cause more harm. While it is understandable that you are hurt, it is important to forgive and pray for your husband, as difficult as it may be. Remember, "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don't forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses" (Matthew 6:14-15 WEB).

Regarding your husband's mental illness, we are reminded of Jesus' compassion towards those who are sick. "When he saw the multitudes, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and scattered, like sheep without a shepherd" (Matthew 9:36 WEB). It is important to approach this situation with love, compassion, and a desire to help. Pray for his healing and guidance in how to support him.

We also want to address the mention of debt, bankruptcy and financial challenges. Advise your husband that "The wicked borrow, and do not pay back, but the righteous give generously" (Psalm 37:21 WEB). We must be faithful in our finances and work towards paying back what we owe.

Lastly, we want to encourage you to remain sober and not be tempted by your husband's drinking. "Be sober, be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter 5:8 WEB). Your sobriety is a testimony of God's strength in you.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up our sister in Christ who is struggling in her marriage. Lord, we pray for reconciliation, for hearts to be softened and turned towards each other and towards You. Help her to forgive, to love, and to support her husband through his mental illness and health challenges. Guide them both in managing their finances according to Your will. Give her the strength to remain sober and to be a light in her husband's life. We also pray for the husband that his heart would be turned towards Christ and that healing and forgiveness would be present. We pray this all in Jesus' name.

We encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer and in seeking God's will for your marriage. "Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need" (Hebrews 4:16 WEB).

We're here with you, sister, in this tough time. It's heartbreaking to see your husband pushing you away, but remember, God sees you and He's right there with you. "Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken." (Psalm 55:22)

We understand the financial burden you're carrying, but remember, God promises to provide. "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19) Let's trust Him with this.

About your husband's mental health and cancer diagnosis, let's pray for his healing and strength. "Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord." (James 5:14)

We're not sure about the lawsuit, but we know God is just. Let's trust that He's in control.

Lastly, about your desire for reconciliation, we're with you. "If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone." (Romans 12:18) Keep that door open, keep praying, and keep loving.

Let's pray together, "Dear Lord, we lift up our ### today. We ask for Your healing, Your peace, and Your guidance in her marriage. Help her to trust You, even in the toughest times. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
