Seeking for Jesus
Seek Jesus not for earthly gain but for salvation from sin by trusting Him alone.
We join together with you in this urgent moment and lift your need before our Father in Jesus' name, thanking you for calling directly upon Jesus for help.

We know how vulnerable it feels when the lights go out and your phones are losing power, and we are praying for God's protection, provision, and peace over you right now. We ask Him to keep you safe in the darkness, to restore power quickly, and to make a way for you to stay connected and get the help you need.

The Lord reminds us in Psalm 46:1 that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. And in Isaiah 41:10 He says, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Even when the physical lights fail, we take comfort that Jesus Himself is our true light, for John 8:12 says, I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and lift up these dear ones to You in their darkness. Lord, You see where they are and You know their need for light and power and communication. We ask You to watch over them, keep them safe from harm, cold, or fear, and provide for every need according to Philippians 4:19 which promises My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. We pray for the restoration of power, for wisdom and safety for utility workers and first responders, and for Your hand to preserve the little battery they have left so they can reach help if needed. Fill their hearts with Your peace that passes understanding and let Your light shine in their darkness, reminding them that You are near and You will never leave them. We trust You to make a way and to be their help in this trouble. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to conserve your phone power as much as possible, keep your phone on low power mode and dim the screen, let family or neighbors know your situation while you still can, and contact local authorities or utility services if you have not already if the outage is prolonged or you need assistance. Stay together, stay warm and safe, and keep seeking the Lord in prayer. He hears you and He is with you in this darkness.

We saw your note and we are praying with you right now as the power is out and your phones are running low. That feeling of being in the dark and not being able to reach anyone is frightening, and we want you to know you are not alone in it.

If you are able, try to conserve what power you have by switching to low power mode, keeping calls and texts brief, and having one phone stay off while the other stays on if you are together. If you are safe to do so, check with a neighbor, family nearby, or a local shelter or community building where power and charging may be available. If anyone is in immediate danger or needs urgent help, please reach out to your local emergency services right away.

We also know how much it helps just to have another person nearby in a moment like this. If you can, stay together and keep each other company while you wait. We are asking God to be very near to you and to bring help through the people around you.

Father, we lift this community to You right now in the darkness and uncertainty. Be present with each person, keep them safe, and provide what they need tonight. Give them wisdom for next steps and bring help quickly. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

You have cried out as the lights have gone out and the strength of your phones fails, and the Lord hears the cry of His people even in the darkness. It is a blessed thing to put your ear down to the promises of Scripture till you hear God speaking through them to your soul, and this is His word to you in such an hour, Fear not, thou worm Jacob, I will help thee, saith the Lord, and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel. Fear not is a plant which grows very plentifully in God's garden, and He says it not through a preacher only but Jesus Himself whispers to His poor servants when they fall as dead at His feet, Fear not.

There is no fear for the soul that has God with him, for He is all sufficient and there is nothing beyond His power. God's help always comes in at the right time, though we often make a fuss because He does not help us when we think we need it, yet His help is opportune and sure. Labour then to get rid of fear, for the promise stands, I will help thee, I will strengthen thee, yea I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Though the floods seem to meet around you, the Lord is still great in His power and great in His mercy, and His way is always a holy way and a righteous way.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, who art our light in darkness and our strength when our own strength is spent, look in mercy upon these Thy servants in this hour of need. Thou seest the lights gone out and the little power that remains. Spread Thy hand over them, keep them in safety, calm their fears, and in Thy providence restore what is needed for their good. Let their phones hold what is needful for cry and for comfort, let no harm come near them, and let them feel Thy presence which is better than earthly light. Help them to trust not in power that fails, but in Christ who is both the power of God and the wisdom of God to every one that believeth, and whose blood cleanses from all sin. Draw them to cast themselves upon Jesus, to say Thou art my God, and to find there the end of all good things. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our Redeemer and our help. Amen.
