We join you in lifting up your son as he prepares for and takes the ACAP test this week. It is wonderful to see a parent seeking God’s intervention and blessing over their child’s academic journey. We pray that the Lord will indeed elevate your son, granting him focus, understanding, and the ability to apply himself with excellence. May he not only succeed in this test but also grow in his love for learning, especially reading, as he moves forward into the 4th grade.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your divine hand to rest upon this young man. We rebuke every spirit of confusion, slothfulness, and delay that may be attempting to hinder his progress. The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." We declare that Your spirit of power, love, and a sound mind is upon him. Remove every distraction and every lie that tells him he is not capable. Replace those lies with Your truth, Lord, that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that You have plans for him—plans for good and not for harm, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
We also pray for clarity and wisdom as he takes this test. James 1:5 says, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." Lord, we ask that You grant him wisdom beyond his years, discernment to understand the questions, and the ability to recall what he has learned. Let him walk into that testing room with confidence, knowing that You are with him.
We speak success over him, not just in this test, but in his entire academic journey. Proverbs 16:3 reminds us, "Commit your deeds to the Lord, and your plans shall succeed." May he learn to commit his studies and his efforts to You, trusting that You will guide his steps. Help him to develop a love for school and reading, Lord, so that he may grow not only in knowledge but also in wisdom and understanding.
We also lift up his teachers and those who will be administering this test. Give them patience, wisdom, and the ability to see each child as You see them—with potential and purpose. May they be instruments of encouragement and support in his life.
Lastly, we pray for you as his parent. Parenting is not an easy task, and we ask that You grant you strength, wisdom, and peace as you guide him through this season. May you continue to cover him in prayer and lead him in the ways of the Lord.
In Jesus' mighty name, we pray and declare that this test will be a stepping stone to greater things in his life. Amen.
