Silas
Beloved of All
Your prayer in this season of deep loss has been received with care, and we join you in bringing it before the Lord who draws near to the brokenhearted and who shows Himself as Father to the fatherless.
What you are doing in seeking Him day and night is exactly what Scripture holds out as precious in His sight. A widow indeed is described as one who is desolate and yet trusts wholly in God and continues in prayer. Your dependence on Him, your lifting of your needs and your sons before Him, is good and acceptable before Him, and He sees it. He has not left you and your boys to wander alone. You are held in His hand, and in His eyes each of you is equally loved and valued, with no one forgotten or set aside.
Remember how God brought Israel out of bondage. His intention was not simply to deliver them from Egypt but to bring them into the rich land He had promised to Abraham, a land they could possess and enjoy. With miracles and power He led them out, yet many did not enter what He had prepared because of unbelief. They looked at themselves and at the obstacles before them instead of looking at God, and in that way they limited what they would receive from Him. The Psalms say they limited the Holy One of Israel through unbelief. It is still possible for us to keep ourselves from the full blessing God desires to give, not because He is unwilling, but because we look at our circumstances rather than at His faithfulness and power.
This is why your prayer against anxiety is so important. The Lord knows every need you have before you speak it. He is your Sustainer, and His desire is to provide for you and to teach you to steward what He provides with wisdom. When fear about finances or the future rises, turn your eyes from the size of the need to the greatness of your God. He who delivered His people with a mighty hand is able to order your steps, to open doors no one else can open, and to make your path clear with His light. Trusting Him does not mean you will not face hard days, but it keeps you in the place where His blessing and guidance can rest upon you.
We are praying as you asked for your sons. We ask the Lord to surround them with His protection as they go about each day, to be the anchor of stability for their hearts and to fill the places of grief with His comfort and peace. We ask Him to give them clarity, focus and diligence in their studies, and to guide their education and their future steps so they may grow and thrive in the work He has prepared for them. He is faithful to heal the home and to shepherd the fatherless with a father's care.
May the Lord continue to hold you close, to provide for you in tangible ways that remind you He is near, to grant you wisdom for each decision, and to let His light shine brightly on the way forward for you and your household. We entrust you to Jesus, who alone is our hope and salvation, and we ask Him to establish your home in His peace.
