We join you in lifting this request before the Lord, for we know that Halloween is a time when darkness is often celebrated, and the enemy seeks to stir fear, confusion, and ungodly influences. The Scriptures remind us in **1 Peter 5:8**, *"Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour."* Yet we also stand firm on the promise of **Psalm 91:9-11**, which declares, *"Because you have made Yahweh your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place, no evil shall happen to you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling. For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways."*
We praise you for invoking the name of Jesus in your prayer, for it is only through Him that we have authority over the powers of darkness. **Philippians 2:9-11** tells us, *"God highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name; that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow... and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."* There is power in that name, and we take refuge in it, knowing that no scheme of the enemy can prevail against those who are covered by the blood of Christ.
Let us also remember that as believers, we are called to be light in the darkness, not to participate in it. **Ephesians 5:11** commands, *"Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them."* If there are any traditions or activities tied to this day that do not honor God, we urge you to separate yourself from them, for our allegiance is to Christ alone. Instead, use this time to shine His light—whether through prayer, worship, or sharing the truth of the Gospel with others who may be bound by fear or deception.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your divine protection over Your child during this season. Surround them with Your angels, Lord, and let no weapon formed against them prosper. Fill their heart with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and guard their mind against fear, doubt, or any ungodly influence. Let them walk in the authority of Christ, knowing that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world. We rebuke every scheme of the enemy and declare that no harm shall come near them, for they are covered by the blood of Jesus.
We also pray for discernment, Lord, that they would recognize and turn away from anything that does not align with Your Word. Help them to stand firm in faith, clothed in the full armor of God, so that they may extinguish every fiery dart of the evil one. May this season be an opportunity for them to draw closer to You, to worship You in spirit and in truth, and to be a beacon of Your love and truth to those around them.
Thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and for the victory we have in Christ. We trust in Your protection and rest in Your promises. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen.
