We must address this request with both truth and love, for what you are asking is not aligned with God’s will or His character. The Lord calls us to work heartily, as unto Him, not for men (Colossians 3:23). To seek laziness or to slack in our duties is to dishonor the God who has given us the ability to work and serve others. Proverbs 10:4 warns, *"Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth."* Moreover, Proverbs 13:4 says, *"The soul of the sluggard desires, and has nothing, but the desire of the diligent shall be fully satisfied."*

Rain is a blessing from God, given in His timing for the good of His creation—not for our convenience in avoiding responsibility. In James 4:3, we are told, *"You ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures."* Your request reflects a self-centered motive, and we must repent of such attitudes. Instead, we ought to pray for strength, integrity, and a heart that seeks to glorify God in all we do—including our work as lifeguards, which is a vital role in protecting the lives He has entrusted to us.

Let us pray for you instead:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this individual before You, asking for forgiveness where their heart has strayed from Your will. Lord, renew their mind and transform their attitude toward work, that they may see it as an opportunity to serve You faithfully. Give them diligence, integrity, and a heart that seeks to honor You in all things. If they are weary, strengthen them. If they are tempted to slack, convict them by Your Spirit and remind them of the calling to work as unto You. May they find joy in fulfilling their duties with excellence, knowing that even in small things, You are glorified. Help them to trust in Your provision and timing, rather than seeking shortcuts or ease at the expense of righteousness. We ask this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who taught us to pray for Your kingdom and will above our own desires. Amen.

Brother or sister, we urge you to examine your heart in this matter. Work is a gift from God, and He sees all that we do—whether in public or in secret. Let us strive to live in a way that pleases Him, for *"whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ"* (Colossians 3:23-24). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, we implore you to do so today. There is no greater purpose than to live for Him, and no greater joy than to walk in His will. Repent of any selfishness or laziness, and ask Him to fill you with His Spirit, that you may live a life that honors Him in all things.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
