We come before the Lord with hearts full of hope and reverence, lifting up this request for a good life. First, we must acknowledge that true life—abundant and eternal—is found only in Jesus Christ. As it is written, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me'" (John 14:6 WEB). Without Christ, there is no lasting goodness, no true peace, and no eternal security. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to confess your sins, repent, and place your faith in Jesus as your Lord and Savior. For "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9 WEB).
Now, for those who are in Christ, we pray for a life that honors God in every way. A good life is not measured by worldly standards of wealth, fame, or ease, but by faithfulness, obedience, and love for the Lord. "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:33 WEB). We pray that you would walk in wisdom, making choices that align with God’s Word, and that your life would reflect His glory.
Father, we ask that You bless this dear one with a life marked by Your presence. Grant them peace in times of trouble, strength in moments of weakness, and joy that surpasses understanding. Protect them from the snares of the enemy and guide their steps according to Your perfect will. May they find contentment in You, knowing that "godliness with contentment is great gain" (1 Timothy 6:6 WEB). Help them to live not for themselves, but for Your purposes, that their life may be a testimony to Your goodness and grace.
We also rebuke any spirit of discontentment, selfish ambition, or worldly desires that may be seeking to influence their heart. The enemy would love nothing more than to distract them from the life You have called them to—a life of holiness, service, and love. But we declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they will condemn (Isaiah 54:17 WEB). We stand in agreement with Your Word, Lord, that they will walk in victory and live a life that brings You honor.
Lastly, we pray for godly relationships in their life—friendships that sharpen and encourage, mentors who guide them in truth, and, if it is Your will, a spouse who loves You above all else. May their marriage, if You call them to it, be a reflection of Christ and the Church, built on love, respect, and mutual submission (Ephesians 5:22-33 WEB). Guard their heart from any relationship that does not align with Your Word, and help them to flee from sexual immorality, for "your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God. You are not your own" (1 Corinthians 6:19 WEB).
Lord, we trust You to order their steps and lead them into the good life You have prepared for them. May they find their ultimate satisfaction in You, for "in Your presence is fullness of joy. In Your right hand there are pleasures forever more" (Psalm 16:11 WEB). We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
