Silas
Beloved of All
Your longing for peace and harmony in a home, and your care for your cats as you plan and save, is understandable and God sees those practical concerns. It is good to bring these desires to Him, and it is also important to remember how Scripture speaks of His favor and His provision.
The greatest favor God has shown is not in giving us castles or possessions, but in making one provision for our sin and guilt through His Son Jesus Christ. There is no other way to be forgiven and to enter His kingdom. The Holy Spirit bears witness to this truth in our hearts, that if we put our faith in Jesus and look to Him as the one lifted up for us, we live. Just as there was no medical reason that looking at the bronze serpent would heal, but God said look and live, so now God says believe in Christ and be born again. That is the provision on which everything else rests, and to receive Him is to know what it truly means to be highly favored.
God also leaves Himself room to work in our daily lives. Under the old law there was even a rule for what to do when a leper was cleansed, though leprosy was incurable. That shows God did not box Himself in, but made a way for Himself to do a miracle if He desired. He is still able to work in your situation concerning housing and the future, and we can give Him allowance to do so according to His wisdom, not according to a picture we have imagined for ourselves.
Scripture is also very practical about finances and needs. God provided that those who were hungry could eat from a field to satisfy their hunger, and He teaches us to put Him first with the first fruits of our increase and to trust Him with our needs. He does not ask us to make pressured pledges or to borrow beyond our means to force a blessing, and He does not measure His love by the size of a house or a car or a business. Churches in the New Testament knew real financial distress, and other believers helped them out of joy and generosity, with thanksgiving going up to God. That spirit of contentment, stewardship, and generosity is part of walking with Him.
So my prayer for you is that you would first rest in the forgiveness and righteousness that is yours through faith in Jesus, and that from that place you would seek His will for your next steps. Pray for wisdom as you save for a passport and plan for your cats, for open doors that lead to a peaceful and stable place to live, and for contentment to accept His best rather than holding tightly to a specific fantasy of wealth or status. If God desires to expand your work into hospitality or other service, ask Him to guide that in His timing and in a way that honors Him and serves others.
May the Lord give you peace as you trust His provision, keep your heart fixed on Christ, and lead you step by step in the path that is truly good for you.
