Life and Weather

Beloved of All
I hurt my right arm, please heal it. My mum ### owes me money but won’t get it unless I am there with her, which has been a while and will be a while until I get it, as it is raining way too much, it is flooded in some parts of ###. Hope my mum doesn’t get nosy over my money and other things. Hope the rain stops for quite a while and go where the fires are instead. Hope it doesn’t rain on Friday and next Sunday. Hope for no tornadoes and earthquakes.

We come before the Lord with your concerns, lifting them up in the name of Jesus Christ, our Healer and Provider. First, we pray for the healing of your right arm. Father, Your Word declares in Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds," says Yahweh. We ask You to touch this dear one’s arm, bringing restoration, strength, and full recovery. May Your healing power flow through every muscle, bone, and joint, and may they feel Your peace and comfort in this time of pain.

We also bring before You the matter of the money owed. Lord, You know the circumstances and the challenges of distance and weather that stand in the way. We ask that You would soften hearts and open doors for this situation to be resolved in a way that honors You. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." We pray for wisdom and patience, trusting that You will provide in Your perfect timing. Guard this one’s heart against frustration or resentment, and help them to extend grace even in difficult circumstances.

Father, we lift up the concerns about the weather, too much rain, flooding, and the fear of storms. You are the Creator of the heavens and the earth, and You hold all things in Your hands. We ask that You would calm the rains, divert them to places of drought, and protect lives and property from harm. Psalm 107:29 says, "He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still." We trust in Your sovereignty over nature and ask for Your mercy to prevail.

We also pray for protection from tornadoes, earthquakes, and any destructive forces. Your Word assures us in Psalm 46:1-2, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas." We stand on this promise, asking for Your covering over every life and home.

Lord, we also ask that You would guard this one’s heart against worry or distrust, especially regarding their mother. Help them to walk in love and wisdom, remembering that "love covers a multitude of sins" (1 Peter 4:8). May Your peace rule in their heart, and may they find their security in You alone.

Finally, we want to gently remind you that true peace and healing come through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we encourage you to do so today. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and the hope of eternal life.

Heavenly Father, we lift all these requests to You, trusting in Your goodness, Your power, and Your perfect will. May Your name be glorified in every circumstance. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We’re sorry you’re carrying so much at once right now, a hurt arm, a difficult financial knot with your mum, and the stress of relentless rain on top of it all. That’s heavy, and we can feel how drained you are just trying to hang on until things let up.

Let’s start with the thing you named first and probably feel most physically: your arm. Please don’t hesitate to have it looked at by a doctor if the pain is sharp, you can’t use it normally, or it isn’t improving soon. A professional assessment can give you answers, keep it from worsening, and help you heal faster. That’s wisdom, not a lack of faith, and we’ll be praying alongside that care.

The situation with your mum sounds tangled and wearying, the money you’re owed, the flooding that keeps you apart, and the anxiety that she might pry into what’s yours. When so much is out of your control, including the weather, it’s easy for the mind to spin a long list of what-ifs. You’ve mentioned rain, tornadoes, earthquakes, specific days, and underneath that long list we can hear how much you just need a break and a sense of safety. You’re not wrong to want that.

While you wait, one small thing you can do is open a gentle conversation with your mum, just a simple check-in, so the silence doesn’t breed more suspicion on either side. Even a brief, kind message can lower the emotional stakes until you can be together in person.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this person to You right now. Please bring healing to their right arm, restore what’s painful, and guide them to good help if that’s needed. Watch over them and their mum in all this flooding, keep them safe, clear the roads in Your time, and provide a fair and peaceful resolution to the money they’re owed. Calm their spirit when fears about the weather and the future press in. Be their shelter and their steady ground. In Your name we pray, Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

Your injured arm is a reminder that our strength is not in sinew alone. The great Physician has healing leaves from the Tree of Life, and even the least touch of His garment can make you whole. Bind a promise round that aching limb, how strong it makes each sinew! When your own strength fails, sit still and let the Lord become your arm every morning, your salvation in the time of trouble.

Concerning the rains and floods, remember that the same God who sends the deluge can hush the storm with a word. But beware of dictating to the Almighty where the rain should fall or the fires should burn. The Flood in Noah's day swept away the rich with their hoards and the poor in their rags, none escaped by their own devices. Trust in the ark of Christ, and you need not fear the rising waters. He who commands the heavens will deal with both flood and flame as pleases His wisdom.

As for the money your mother owes, guard your heart against fretting over temporal debts. Seek first forgiveness and healing from the Lord, and these earthly concerns will find their proper place. Pray for a gentle spirit toward her, lest a nosy word kindle strife. Rather, let the healing of your own soul sweeten every common thing with love for Christ. When the Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings, pardon and peace flow together.

May you hear the Gospel with heedful ears, and find that the teaching of Christ not only mends broken bodies but transforms hearts. Then, when tornadoes threaten and earthquakes rumble, you shall stand unmoved, for your life is hid with Christ in God. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your arm pains you, and you seek healing for the body, but consider what sort of health you ask and from what kind of sickness you desire to be loosed. The arm throbs, but think on the soul that is water-logged by the cares of this world, so that when the flood-wave of these anxieties comes, the whole frame of the inner man breaks up and scatters. You fear the storm of rain and floods and the loss of money; yet the storm of luxury and the deceitfulness of riches work a far greater desolation within, choking the word and making it unfruitful. Let us then make our soul a Heaven, pure and without spot, high above these earthly rains and storms, so that the moisture of temporary things does not cling to it and bring forth only thorns.

You hope the rain stops and goes to the fires instead, you hope for no storms on certain days, you hope your mother does not pry into your money. But what are these hopes but clouds that darken the heaven of the mind? The natural sky is not itself changed by the clouds that cover it, and neither should tribulations or the wiles of the devil alter the soul’s brightness. Behold the cloud of witnesses, the memory of holy men, which cools the heat of your worry as a cloud shades one from the burning rays. Do you not see that the Master permits such small tempests that you might learn to bear all nobly? Before, the disciples had Him in the ship, but later He let them be tossed alone, to awaken their hardened heart. And do you, when your limb hurts and rain hinders your money, not trust that He is training you for greater endurance?

You speak of what your mother owes you, and you fear she may meddle with what is yours. But tell me, have you forgotten the debt you yourself owe? The ten thousand talents forgiven you, and you demand the hundred pence from her? He who does not forgive a trespass imitates God, while he who demands money does not. Why do you count that coin as your own at all? It is His goods you would hold, and He bids you give to another that you might truly possess them yourself. So long as you clutch them, you have them not; when you release them to need, they become a loan at interest to heaven. If you forgive a debt of money, you do only what is your duty, an unprofitable servant’s work. But if you forgive the trespass, and let go the anxious claim, then you begin to imitate the love of Christ, who poured out His own Blood for enemies.

I fear for us who ever drink in the rain of warning and then lose all moisture when the sun rises, bringing forth only the thorns of worldly care. How many, after hearing often, seemed insensible, yet later brought forth abundant fruit? It was not the last blow alone that felled the tree, but all the strokes together. So I am persuaded that if you will now turn from this sickness of mind, the whole gain will come to you. Cast off the heavy garments of luxury and fretting over weather and coins; make the soul lean and taut for the energies of heaven. Then the true healing will come, not only to the arm, but to the whole frame, and you will stand far above these earthly storms as one who has become a Heaven, having the Lord of the Sun within.

You’ve brought before the Lord a tangled set of worries: a painful arm, unpaid money, intrusive family tension, and an overwhelming fear of what the weather might do. I hear the anxiety in each line. It’s natural to want immediate relief from pain, quick resolution to financial strain, and safety from floods and storms. But these very pressures can become an invitation to examine where your trust truly rests.

When the arm of flesh fails, whether it’s your own body, your mother’s cooperation, or the forecast you’re watching, the Lord is calling you to lean entirely on Him. Scripture warns that the person who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength will end up like a dry shrub in the desert. That includes trusting in your own ability to control the weather through anxious wishes, or pinning your hope on a delayed repayment. God often permits circumstances to strip away our self-reliance so He can plant something deep and lasting. Right now, you might feel brought low, but that’s exactly where He can begin to build.

When it comes to your arm, pray boldly for healing, but also ask, “Lord, what are You teaching me through this?” Sometimes pain persists because there’s a deeper stubbornness that needs to be acknowledged. It’s easy to say the right words about loving God while our hearts are consumed with irritation at others, or while we justify our impatience. The Lord is looking for those who are honest about their iniquity, not those who cover it with spiritual jargon. Have you paused to confess any bitterness toward your mother, any anxiety that borders on unbelief? The Lord isn’t impressed by how often we declare we love Him, He sees whether that love is proven in trust when things don’t go our way.

The money your mother owes you, her possible meddling, the rain on Friday and Sunday, the dread of tornadoes and earthquakes, these are not random troubles. They are the stage on which genuine faith is either proven or exposed as hollow. If you truly believe God is sovereign over floods and fires, then your actions and your inner peace should align with that confession. That doesn’t mean you stop making wise decisions; it means you stop carrying a burden only He can bear. Acknowledge your desperation before Him, but let that desperation be born out of a hunger for His righteousness, not just a desire for comfortable circumstances.

The Lord extends His mercy right up to the final moment, but He also watches to see if we will return to Him with a whole heart. He asks, “If you return, then I will bring you again, and you will stand before Me.” Return from what? From the temptation to manipulate outcomes through worry, from resentment, from the shallow religion that wants blessings without submission. Let this time of pain and uncertainty be the archaeologist’s spade that digs out the rubble in your soul, so that something noble and rooted in Christ can grow.

I encourage you to pray differently. Instead of dictating which days should stay dry, ask God to make you a person who trusts Him in every weather. Instead of fretting over the money, ask Him to free your heart from the love of it and to teach you patience and forgiveness. Your right arm may yet heal; the skies may clear. But even if they don’t immediately, the one who makes the Lord his trust will not wither. He will be like a tree planted by water, sending out roots by the stream. Let that be your request: not merely a change in your circumstances, but a change in you that weathers every storm.
