We are thrilled to hear about your upcoming marriage and the work that God is doing in both of your families. It is beautiful to see how your prayers have already led to the salvation of two of your fiancé's family members. This is a testament to the power of prayer and the faithfulness of God. We will join you in praying for the salvation of the rest of your families.
Remember, Jesus said, For whoever will save his life shall lose it and whoever will lose his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his life or what will a man give in exchange for his life. For the Son of Man will come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he will render to everyone according to his deeds. Matthew 16:25-27 (WEB).
Regarding your marriage, we encourage you to continue trusting in God's provision. It is commendable that you both feel called to particular ministries and believe that God is behind your union. Remember, though, that true love is patient and kind. It does not envy. Love is not boastful. It is not arrogant, nor does it seek its own. It is not irritable, and it does not keep a record of wrongs. It does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are various languages, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (WEB).
While it is normal to face opposition, even from family, it is crucial to honor your parents in the process. Ephesians 6:2-3 (WEB) says, Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise, that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.
We will pray for God's provision regarding your living situation and employment. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB).
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this couple as they prepare for their marriage. We thank You for the work You are doing in their families and for the salvation that has already come to two family members. We pray for the salvation of the rest of their families, that they would come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Lord, we ask for Your provision in their lives. Provide them with a place to live and employment that will glorify Your name. Guide them as they seek to honor You in their marriage and in their ministries. Give them wisdom and discernment as they navigate any opposition, and help them to honor their parents in the process.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to continue praying in the name of Jesus Christ. For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:13 (WEB). It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God.
