Active use of small gifts brings more eternal reward than wasted greatness.
We hear the ache in your heart and we join you in bringing this deep longing before the Lord together in Jesus name. The pain of missing someone you love so dearly is heavy, and we know that God sees your tears and hears your cry. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18.

We want to gently and lovingly speak truth over your request as we pray with you. God created love and relationships for a beautiful purpose, and His design for that love to be expressed and protected is within the covenant of marriage between a man and a woman for life. So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, don’t let man tear apart Matthew 19:6. Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Hebrews 13:4. If this man you love is your husband, we pray with all our hearts for restoration and reconciliation, for God can soften hearts and heal what is broken. If he is not your husband, we encourage you to see this time of courtship as a time to seek God’s will for a godly marriage rather than simply longing for a boyfriend or partner to return. We believe courtship should be with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer, and we are called not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity, or what fellowship has light with darkness 2 Corinthians 6:14. If there has been sexual intimacy outside of marriage, we lovingly rebuke that as fornication which is sin against God and against your own body, and we urge you to flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18 and to pursue purity as you seek God’s best for your life. God’s way is not to withhold good from you but to lead you into a relationship that honors Him and brings lasting peace.

We also notice that you prayed to the Lord but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We share this in love because there is no other way to the Father except through Him. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is only by the blood of Jesus that we have access to God, and by believing in Him, that He died for our sins and rose again, we are forgiven and made new. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus as your Savior and Lord and to bring every prayer to the Father in His name.

We do not know if it is God’s will for this man to return into your life, but we know God’s will is always good and loving. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28. Sometimes God restores a relationship and sometimes He lovingly closes a door to protect us and to lead us to something better and more holy.

We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ. We lift up our sister to You and You know the man she loves and the deep missing she feels. Lord, we ask that Your perfect will be done in this relationship. If this man is her husband, we pray for healing, forgiveness, repentance and restoration of that marriage covenant. If he is not her husband, we pray for clarity, for purity, and for Your direction. If it is Your will for them to be together in a godly marriage that honors You, we pray You would draw them both closer to You and to each other in holiness. If it is not Your will, we pray You would give her peace that surpasses all understanding to guard her heart and thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7, and comfort her broken heart and heal her wounds Psalm 147:3. Help her to seek You first above any person and to trust Your thoughts which are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. Lead her to a godly spouse if it is Your plan, and help her to walk in obedience and purity while she waits. Forgive any sin and wash her clean through Jesus. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to keep seeking the Lord daily in prayer and in His Word, to surround yourself with wise Christian counsel and fellowship in a Bible believing church, and to place your hope fully in Christ rather than in any man. God loves you more deeply than anyone ever could and He will never leave you.

We hear the ache in your words. Missing the presence of someone you love so deeply leaves a quiet emptiness that follows you through the day, and we are grateful you brought that honest longing to the Lord.

Loneliness is a very human experience, and it often pulls us inward right when we most need gentle connection. While you are praying and waiting to see what God will do with this relationship, we encourage you not to carry this alone. Staying close to one or two trusted people who know you, whether a pastor, a faithful friend, or a small community where you can simply be with others, can help keep the isolation from growing heavier. Just being present with God's people, even in worship, has a way of reminding us we are not facing the waiting by ourselves.

It is also understandable to hold both your hope and your questions before God at the same time. You can keep bringing Him your desire honestly while also asking for clarity and peace for whatever is ahead. You do not have to sort it all out today.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus' name. You see this love and the missing that comes with it. Wrap her in Your comfort, steady her heart with Your nearness, and give wisdom for each next step. Surround her with caring people and guide her according to Your good will. Amen.

Your longing and the loneliness you feel in missing his presence have been heard, and your sorrow is not overlooked by the Lord.

There is a loneliness which cuts very deep, when the heart misses human fellowship and love. Our Savior Himself knew this pain. He was left alone just when, as Man, He most needed human sympathy, and His disciples forsook Him and fled. Yet even then He could say, I am not alone, because the Father is with Me. That truth remains for you now. Though you feel left alone, you are not alone if the Father is with you, and His presence is able to sustain when no other presence can.

We understand that love can make the soul break with longing, but Scripture teaches us that what God intends to give us, He first sets us longing for, and the sweetest and safest longing is the longing after God Himself. Job cried, Oh that I knew where I might find Him, and the Psalmist panted with longing for the Lord's commandments and judgments. May your present ache turn your whole soul to that one earnest longing to find God, to know Him personally and to be healed by Him. Heartbreak for God is sweeter than content in any other love, for it draws you to the fountain of all comfort.

The Lord is the great Physician for wounded hearts. He heals the broken in heart, and not with mere notions but with a real saving work which God alone can do. Of Christ it is written that the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His healing changes the life blood and makes the nature other than it was before. When Jesus healed, pardon and healing were one, for He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you. The greatest reconciliation we need is to be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ, who was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them. When that peace is known, the joy of it can be felt even in loneliness.

So we will pray for you, not simply that your own wish may be fulfilled, but that God's perfect and holy will may be done in your life and in the life of the man you love. We ask the Lord to heal your broken heart, to forgive sin through the blood of Christ, to grant you His presence so that you know you are not alone, and to turn your longing into a holy longing after Himself and after His commandments. If this man is your husband, we pray God would work reconciliation according to His grace and truth. If he is not, we pray God would lead you both into that which is pure and holy in His sight, for marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all that belongs to it is to be kept within it. Above all we pray that you may find God and be found in Christ, for there is abundant healing power in Him.

May the Sun of Righteousness rise upon you with healing in His wings, and may the Father who never leaves His children keep you, comfort you, and guide your steps into His peace.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
