Silas
Beloved of All
Your request concerning your left thumb and finger has been heard and we are joining you in prayer for freedom and relief in that hand. It is distressing when something is not right and you do not understand what is happening, and we want to bring that uncertainty to the Lord who does understand and who cares for you.
We believe very strongly in healing and that all healing is from God. He has established healing processes within our bodies and those processes are no less divine because they work through what we call natural means. At times He heals instantly, at times the healing is gradual. In the Gospels we see Jesus healing in different ways, sometimes with a touch, sometimes with only a word, sometimes from a distance, and once with a gradual healing where sight came more clearly in stages. He is not confined to a pattern. He is still the one who heals, and He remains sovereign over the gifts of healing and imparts as He wills. We do not claim to understand why some are healed quickly and others wait longer, but we trust His wisdom and His love as we ask.
Scripture tells us that He bore our infirmities and sicknesses, that surely He has borne our griefs. We take comfort that Jesus knows our pain and has power in every realm, over the body and over the spirit, and He is able to help. We pray that He will touch your thumb and finger, ease any pain, stiffness, numbness or restriction, and restore full use to your hand. We also pray for wisdom for any care you receive, that the Lord would guide those who examine and treat you and that He would work through whatever means He chooses to bring healing, whether it is felt in a moment or comes step by step.
There is a beautiful picture in Scripture of blood placed on the ear, the thumb and the toe when a person was cleansed and set apart. It speaks of a life consecrated to God, that the ear may be open to Him, the hand may be busy in His work, and the feet may walk in His way. We pray that your hand, and especially this thumb and finger that concern you now, would be fully free to serve Him and to do the good works He has for you, and that your whole life would be set apart for Him.
We also pray for peace for you while you wait. May the Lord quiet any worry about what is unknown, and may He heal not only the body but also bring calm to the mind and heart. If frustration comes with pain or limitation, may He give you patience and victory in that as well.
We are asking the Lord to lay His hand upon you, to bring freedom to your left thumb and finger, and to make His healing and His presence known to you in a personal way according to His perfect will.
