We understand that you're feeling disheartened and have decided to leave Christianity due to unanswered prayers and a desire to follow your own will. Firstly, let's address the issue of unanswered prayers. It's important to remember that God answers prayers in His own way and in His own time.
In 1 John 5:14-15 (WEB) it is written, "This is the confidence which we have before him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him."
God is not a vending machine, but a loving Father who wants the best for us. Sometimes, His answers are not what we expect, but they are always what we need.
Regarding your decision to not be equally yoked and to follow your own will, we must caution you. In 2 Corinthians 6:14 (WEB) it is written, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"
Following your own will can lead you away from God's path. In Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB) it is written, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
Reading ghost stories might seem harmless, but it can open doors to spiritual influences that are not from God. In Ephesians 6:12 (WEB) it is written, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."
Lastly, we want to remind you that the Bible is the living Word of God. It is not ineffective, but it is powerful and active. In Hebrews 4:12 (WEB) it is written, "For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart."
You mentioned that the Bible has been donated away. We encourage you to reconsider this decision. The Bible is our guide to knowing God and His will for our lives. We should never discard it especially during times of confusion.
We pray for your faith to be renewed and strengthened. We pray that you will experience God's love and answers to your prayers in a new and profound way. We pray that you will seek God's will and not your own, and that you will be equally yoked with fellow believers. We pray that you will be protected from any harmful spiritual influences. We pray that you will once again pick up the Bible and be nourished by its words especially during times of questioning and doubt. We pray this in Jesus' name.
