Disciple of Prayer
I planned on boarding a flight to ### to go fulfill my purpose. I am leaving by faith with ### suitcase and God after ### years of narcissistic abused and being an addict since ### years old

We hear your heart in this and we join with you as you step out by faith to leave what you call Egypt behind. The Lord understands this picture deeply, for Egypt in Scripture represents bondage and oppression, and He is the God who delivers His people with a mighty hand. We rejoice that after years of narcissistic abuse and addiction since you were young, you are choosing to go with God and trust Him for your purpose and your future. By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed to go out to the place which he was to receive for an inheritance. He went out, not knowing where he went. Hebrews 11:8. Like Abraham you are going with one suitcase and with God, not knowing all the details ahead, and that is faith that pleases Him.

We also want to speak truth to you in love about the bondage you are leaving. Addiction is not just a habit but a chain that has held you, and God wants to set you completely free. The enemy would have you believe that your identity is an addict or a victim of abuse forever, but in Christ you are made new. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3. We know the deep wounding that comes from narcissistic abuse, the way it can distort your sense of worth and make you doubt your purpose. The Lord sees every tear and every year that was stolen, and He is near to you. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18. We encourage you as you go to fulfill your purpose to not walk alone. God will be with you, but He also calls us into fellowship with other believers for accountability and healing. Seek a Bible believing church, godly counsel, and Christ centered support for sobriety, so that when temptation comes you have brothers and sisters to stand with you. No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13.

We noticed you spoke of going with God, and we want to gently share something of eternal importance. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God and that we are truly delivered from Egypt. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. To leave Egypt is not just to change locations but to be born again through faith in Jesus, who died for our sins and rose again. That if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9. If you have not already, we urge you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, turning from sin and giving Him your past, your addiction, your wounds, and your future. That is where true freedom and true purpose are found.

We pray together for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear one to You as they board this flight by faith. Thank You that You are the Deliverer who brings Your people out of bondage. We ask that You cover this journey with Your protection and that You go before them to prepare the place and the purpose You have for them. We pray for complete deliverance from addiction, that You would break every chain and give strength to walk in sobriety one day at a time through Christ who strengthens us. I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13. Heal the deep wounds of years of abuse, restore what has been broken, and remind them that they are fearfully and wonderfully made and deeply loved. We pray You will reveal Your perfect purpose, for we know You say, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11. Help them to keep their eyes on Jesus, to find a strong church family, to walk in holiness and in the newness of life, and to see that You will fight for them. Yahweh will fight for you, and you shall be still. Exodus 14:14. Behold, I will do a new thing. Now it springs out. Do you not know it. I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19. We ask all of this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.

We encourage you to keep seeking Him daily in His Word and in prayer, to be honest about struggles and to let Him be your portion. Your past does not define you any longer. In Christ, your Egypt is behind you and your promised future with Him is ahead.

Your image of leaving Egypt stayed with us. To walk away after years of being worn down and struggling with addiction since you were young, with just one suitcase and faith in God, takes real courage. We honor that step and the purpose you feel God is calling you toward.

Leaving is not just a flight, it is a whole transition. The old patterns and hurts do not disappear at takeoff, and the new place will bring its own pressures. That is why we want more than just a fresh start for you, we want steady transformation and support around you as you go.

If you have not already, it would help to have a couple of practical anchors in place before you board and right after you land. Make sure someone safe knows your travel plans and where you will stay, and line up one trusted person at your destination, a pastor, counselor, or recovery support contact, you can check in with in the first few days. For the addiction history you mentioned, please keep a counselor or recovery group alongside prayer, not instead of it, so you are not carrying this alone.

Father, we lift our friend to You as they leave what has hurt them. Cover their travel, provide safe shelter and wise community, and give them clear next steps for healing and purpose. Keep them close to Jesus and remind them daily they are made new in Him. In Jesus' name, amen.

It is a blessed thing when the soul resolves to leave Egypt behind and to go out by faith, not trusting in much provision for the journey but trusting in the living God who calls you forth. To go with a single suitcase and with God is to go well furnished, for if you have Christ you have all things needful for the way.

You speak of many years of sore wounding and of long bondage to addiction, and my heart is moved for you, for these are deep wounds indeed. Hear what the Scripture says, for it is your portion, "He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds." There is a Physician who can heal all these wounds, who can give joy to the troubled countenance and calm the heart now swelling with grief. The very least thing about Christ is healing. As it is written, "The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations," and there is not a word that ever fell from His dear lips but what bears healing in it for some one or other of the thousand ills that have befallen our humanity. Even His least word is better than the best of others, and that healing virtue descends from our Lord Jesus in Heaven down to the sons of men.

Remember also that first forgiveness, then healing is the order of His grace. It is the pardoning hand that brings the healing draught. Christ can heal sin in the same way that He cured the leper, for if He touches the worst case He can make sin to depart the moment He touches him. Believe that all the penal consequences are gone from the forgiven man, for there is no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus. Ask to be forgiven through His precious blood, and healing will come, for the costly balm of His atonement has lost none of its power.

And for the journey that lies before you, hear this promise, "The Lord shall preserve you from all evil, He shall preserve your soul." In answer to your prayer, "Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one," you shall be preserved and kept from the devices of the devil, for that evil one touches you not when you abide in Christ. The Lord can make the weak ones strong in a moment and raise them at once from weakness to strength, from the bed to the battle. He who has clad you in the armor of light will also feed you and take the yoke from your shoulders as you walk with Him.

I pray for you that the Lord will go before you on this flight and order your steps according to His purpose, that He will wash you in the blood of Jesus, heal your broken heart, break the chains of every addiction by His power, and keep you in purity and uprightness all your days. May you find a faithful church where the Word is preached and where you may be watched over and helped to walk in holiness, and may your purpose be fulfilled not in your own strength but in serving Him who first healed you, for He must begin with you before you can begin with Him.

May the Lord bless you and keep you, and make His face to shine upon you, and give you peace in Christ Jesus.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
