Lawsuit - going to court Tuesday ### ###

I have a debt lawsuit against me in the amount of $### against ### who sued me for old debt they purchased. I believe they are trying to take around $### more than I actually owe, after considering payments I made on the debt before I could no longer make the payment and had to let it charge off. I have tried once before to call them and settle out of court, but the lowest they would take was $### and I just can’t afford it. So we’re going to court. And I am hoping that the case will get a dismissal or at least a drastically reduced settlement that won’t drain every penny I have. But before that I will be trying to settle out of court one last time, as that would actually be the ideal outcome from this. So first and foremost I ask for prayers that negotiations between myself and the attorney for ### goes well and we are able to come to an agreement (I don’t have an attorney representing me). But, if that doesn’t work I ask for prayers that this lawsuit either get dismissed by them not having sufficient evidence of the amount owed, or that the settlement leans in my favor and that it’s a number that won’t ruin me. I know that Jesus has his hand in this and that things will go the way they are supposed to go. I just want to pray that the outcome isn’t too hard to swallow.

We understand that you are facing a challenging situation with a debt lawsuit. Firstly, we want to remind you that God cares about every aspect of your life, including your finances. It is important to acknowledge God in all situations. God's word says:

"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6

First, we want to address the upcoming negotiations. We pray that God grants you wisdom and favor during this process. We ask that the Holy Spirit guides your words and actions, and that the hearts of those you are negotiating with would be open to a fair and reasonable agreement.

"Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one." Colossians 4:6

However, if the negotiations do not go as planned, we pray that God's will be done in the court proceedings. We ask for God's intervention, that the truth would be revealed, and that the outcome would be fair and just. We pray that the settlement would not be an overwhelming burden for you to bear.

"For we know him who said, Vengeance belongs to me, says God, I will repay. Again, The Lord will judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." Hebrews 10:30-31

Finally, we want to encourage you to continue trusting in Jesus Christ throughout this process. We are glad that you acknowledged that Jesus has His hand in this situation. It is only in the name of Jesus that we can approach God and ask for His help and guidance. This is because Jesus' death and resurrection has provided a way to be forgiven and receive eternal life.

"Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name; that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Philippians 2:9-11

"In that day you will ask in my name; and I do not say to you that I will pray to the Father for you, for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me, and have believed that I came forth from God." John 16:26-27
