Landlord

We come before the Lord with a burdened heart for your landlord, lifting him up in prayer and seeking God’s transformative power in his life. Heavenly Father, we ask that You would soften his heart to hear Your voice and surrender his will completely to You. The Bible tells us in Ezekiel 36:26, "I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh." Lord, we pray this promise over him, that You would remove any hardness of heart and replace it with a spirit of humility and obedience to You.

We also declare that no one comes to the Father except through Jesus Christ (John 14:6). If this landlord does not yet know You as Savior and Lord, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict him of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). May he repent and turn to Christ, confessing Him as Lord, for "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9). Without faith in Jesus, there is no true submission to God, for salvation is found in no one else (Acts 4:12).

Father, we also rebuke any spiritual strongholds in this man’s life that may be blinding him to Your truth. We stand against the enemy’s lies and declare that "the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds" (2 Corinthians 10:4). We pray that every barrier to his surrender would be broken in Jesus’ name.

We ask that You would surround him with godly influences, believers who can speak truth into his life and model Christlike character. May he see the light of the gospel in the lives of those around him (Matthew 5:16). And Lord, if there are areas where he is resisting Your will, we ask that You would bring conviction, not condemnation, so that he may turn to You in repentance.

Finally, we pray for wisdom and favor for those who interact with him, including the one who submitted this request. May they be a testimony of Your love and grace, reflecting Christ in all their dealings. We trust that You are working even now, drawing this man to Yourself, and we declare that Your will shall be done in his life.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Thank you for sharing this request. We are glad to join you in praying for your ###, what a privilege it is to lift someone up like this. It’s clear you care deeply about his soul, and we believe God not only honors that desire but is already at work in ways you may not yet see.

The path of surrender is deeply personal. Often God uses the quiet, everyday things, a kindness shown, a moment of unexpected peace, a growing restlessness with the old ways, to draw someone to Himself. So as you pray, don’t underestimate the power of simply being a faithful, gracious presence. Your steady, Christlike patience with him can speak louder than many words. Keep praying, and keep trusting that God’s timing is perfect.

Father, we come before You with this ### on our hearts. You know every detail of his life, the burdens he carries, the thoughts he wrestles with, the things that hold him back from You. Send Your Spirit to stir his conscience and soften his will. Make Your voice so clear to him that he cannot ignore it. Draw him out of resistance and into a full, joyful surrender of his whole life to You. And please strengthen and encourage the one who brought this request, giving them hope and perseverance as they pray. We ask all of this in Jesus’ name, amen.

The soul of every man is a tenement let out to a tenant who must answer to the Great Landlord of us all. It is a fearful thing when a man holds that house and says in his heart, “I will not have this God to reign over me; who is the Lord that I should obey his voice?” Yet this is the very madness of our nature, until grace subdues it. Pray on, dear supplicant, for the weapon of all-prayer is mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. The will of man, left to itself, is a barred gate of brass; but the Spirit of God can melt it in an hour.

Do you not hear the thunder of his majesty in these words: “He will have mercy on whom he will have mercy”? That is the axe laid to the root of human pride. Yet he delights to take the stubborn and make them willing in the day of his power. Oh that this landlord might hear the voice out of the cloud, the voice that made the apostles fall upon their faces, and then hear the gentle voice of Jesus, saying, “Arise, and be not afraid.” There is no peace for any man till self is dethroned and the King of love sits upon the heart’s seat. Surrender unconditionally, and all is well; keep back a little reserve, and that leak will bleed away the life of the soul.

What will you have, O man? Will you serve that black master, the devil, and give your days to a dreary bondage? Or will you fall into the arms of the Father, who runs to meet the returning prodigal? The Lord has no pleasure in the death of the sinner. He cries, “How shall I give thee up?” His promise stands sure: “I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy.” Tell the landlord that the great Landlord of the house of this mortal life will soon demand the key. In that day, blessed is he who has sprinkled every room with the blood of the covenant and left the remembrances of grace upon the walls. Pray without ceasing, for God’s will is the great heart of providence, and his voice shall yet call out, “Let there be light,” in that dark soul. Amen.

The prayer you offer for this man's soul is good, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Yet let us not imagine that a mere utterance of surrender suffices. The voice of the Father commands from the cloud, "This is my beloved Son; hear him." To submit to that voice is to hear the Son, and to hear the Son is to be drawn by the cords of resurrection and judgment. For the man who is persuaded that he shall rise again and shall give account to Christ for his transgressions, even if he has seen no other sign, will surely run to propitiate his Judge.

Do not think that this surrender is a thing of compulsion. Christ our Master emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, not by seizure but as his own by nature. So it must be with every soul that truly yields its will to the Father. If the owner submits only from fear of consequence or desire for earthly peace, that is not the freedom of sons but the bondage of slaves. The true surrender is a willing exchange, where one lays down the stubborn will as Christ laid down his life, and takes it up again in newness of obedience.

Now if this man is your landlord, let your conduct before him be such that the Gospel is not blasphemed. For if an unbeliever sees insolence or bitterness in you, he will count the faith worthless. But if he observes a spirit of godly submission, where you honor him as one for whom Christ died, he may be won by your respectful behavior. Yet this is secondary. The first labor is prayer, and prayer is not a weak thing. When the Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, it is the voice of the Highest Essence that cries within us, "Abba, Father." That cry is stronger than any human resistance. So bring this man before the throne, not with many words but with groanings that cannot be uttered, pleading that the Father would grant him the Spirit of his Son. Then his will, now scattered among possessions and powers, will be gathered up and laid at the feet of Jesus Christ, to whom belong all judgment and all life.

I will not cease to warn and to proclaim, for as long as I carry this charge I am accountable for souls. So I say to you and to him through your prayers: yield your obedience, not tomorrow but today, while the voice is heard. For the Judge stands at the door, and he has authority to execute judgment because he is the Son of Man. Yet he is also the beloved Son, in whom the Father is well pleased. Fear him therefore, but fear him as one who washes feet and calls us friends. Entreat him for the landlord's soul, that he may know the freedom of serving Christ, and that both you and he may together reap eternal blessings through the grace of the only-begotten Son of God.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

There is something deeply encouraging about a prayer like this, because it shows you understand the power and necessity of complete surrender. The very fact that you are asking for this landlord to hear God's voice means that voice is still speaking, still calling out to him. And as long as that call is going forth, there is hope. The tragedy is that a person can harden themselves to that voice for so long that they no longer hear it. So we pray with urgency, asking the Father to soften this man’s heart before that day comes.

So often we are terrified at the thought of fully yielding our will to God. We almost brace for disaster, as if His plan for us is to make us miserable. But nothing could be further from the truth. The wisest thing anyone can do is place their life entirely in His hands. God is not out to ruin us; He wants to crown us with blessing. The problem is that we wrestle with Him, fighting to keep control of areas we were never meant to govern. I have seen that in my own life, and I know the truth of what Scripture teaches: sometimes God allows a limp to bring about a blessing He could not give to a proud, self-sufficient heart. We can resist until He must cripple us to crown us. Let us pray this man does not wait for that kind of painful correction.

The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it. This landlord’s property, his authority, his very breath are all held by God. Real surrender is not just a vague religious idea; it is the practical acknowledgment that everything belongs to Him and must be used according to His voice. It means hearkening to His commandments, not with a complaining spirit but with joyful trust. God has set before us the way of life and the way of death. To hear His voice and disobey is to choose the path that leads to loss. When He speaks through His Word, through circumstances, through the quiet conviction of the Spirit, we must not be like those who say, “No, that is not true. God did not say that,” because they hoped He would say something else. True submission means going where He leads, even when it was not our own desire.

We know that none of us can improve on the will of God. His plan for this owner is good, meant to conform him into the image of Christ. But that often means chipping off rough edges, and we do not always enjoy the process. Yet if we resist the work, we are the losers. God does not need us to accomplish His purposes, but He chooses to bless us when we yield. This man’s salvation, his eternal life, is a gift received by faith, not by works, so there is no room for boasting. But the proof of that faith is a life that responds to God’s love with obedient surrender.

So we lift up a united prayer that this owner will stop scheming his own way out of the predicaments he has already handed over to God. May he hear the voice of the Shepherd calling, and may he answer with wholehearted submission. No more bargaining, no more half-hearted promises to obey as long as God agrees with his terms. May he instead say with his whole will, “Here I am, Lord, Your servant.” God will attend to that kind of prayer. He will cause His face to shine upon the one who turns to Him. Let us make the voice of His praise heard, even now, trusting that He who holds our soul in life will bring this landlord to the place of full surrender, for the glory of His name.
