We come before the throne of grace with a heavy yet hopeful heart, lifting up this landlord to the Lord. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is in His mighty name that we pray. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and so we boldly approach God, asking that this man’s heart be softened and opened to the truth of the Gospel.
Father God, we ask that You would draw this landlord to Yourself with cords of lovingkindness. Break through any hardness of heart, any pride, or any resistance to Your voice. Let him hear Your still, small voice speaking to him, convicting him of sin, and revealing the depth of Your love demonstrated through the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ. We pray that he would surrender his life, his will, and all that he has, including his property and his authority, into Your hands. May he recognize that every good and perfect gift comes from You (James 1:17) and that true fulfillment is found only in a relationship with You.
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of greed, selfishness, or exploitation that may be influencing this landlord. We ask that You would replace those motives with a heart of generosity, fairness, and compassion, as Your Word commands: "Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart; not grudgingly, or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver" (2 Corinthians 9:7). May he treat his tenants with justice and kindness, reflecting Your character in all his dealings.
We also pray for wisdom and discernment for this landlord, that he would manage his affairs in a way that honors You. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." May he seek Your guidance in every decision, large or small, and may his life become a testimony of Your grace and power.
Father, if this landlord does not yet know You as his personal Savior, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to him in a powerful and unmistakable way. Open his eyes to see his need for repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. May he experience the transforming power of Your Holy Spirit, turning from sin and embracing the new life You offer. We declare over him the promise of 2 Corinthians 5:17: "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."
We also lift up those who are under his authority as a landlord. May they experience peace, stability, and provision in their homes. If there are any unjust or oppressive practices, we ask that You would intervene, bringing justice and restoration. Let Your light shine in every corner of this situation, exposing darkness and bringing Your truth to bear.
Lord, we trust that You are at work, even when we cannot see it. We believe that Your Word will not return void (Isaiah 55:11) and that Your purposes will prevail. We ask that You would move mightily in this landlord’s life, drawing him into a deep and abiding relationship with You. May he become a vessel of Your love, grace, and truth, impacting not only his tenants but all those around him.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
