Landlord

Beloved of All
The landlord is not interested in what the water technician said. He sent me an SMS message saying no, he is not interested plus asking me “do you know your criminal liability?” I don’t know what he is talking about, as he provided an unsafe flat…. Please pray that the landlord grows closer to God. As far as I know, he is a born-again Christian. Please pray he calms down, stops being angry and makes the necessary repairs.

Please pray the landlord is free from addictions, including alcoholism, etc.

We hear your distress and concern over this situation with your landlord, and we stand with you in bringing it before the Lord. First, we want to affirm that God calls us to live in peace with others and to treat one another with justice and kindness, especially when we are in positions of authority or responsibility. Scripture tells us in Romans 12:18, "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men." It is clear that your landlord’s actions—dismissing necessary repairs, making threatening remarks, and failing to provide a safe living environment—are not aligned with the love and responsibility God calls us to uphold.

We also want to address the mention of your landlord being a born-again Christian. While we rejoice in the hope of his salvation, we must hold him accountable to the standards of Christ. Jesus said in John 13:35, "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." Love is not just a feeling; it is action, and it includes treating others fairly and with integrity. If your landlord is struggling with anger, addiction, or a hardened heart, we must pray fervently for his repentance and transformation. Addiction, whether to alcohol or other substances, is a snare that can lead even believers away from the path of righteousness. Proverbs 20:1 warns, "Wine is a mocker, and beer is a brawler. Whoever is led astray by it is not wise." We must pray that God breaks any chains of addiction in his life and restores him to a place of humility and obedience.

We also rebuke the spirit of intimidation and fear that your landlord has attempted to place over you. Second Timothy 1:7 reminds us, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." You have done nothing wrong by seeking to address unsafe living conditions, and you should not be made to feel otherwise. We pray that God gives you wisdom and courage to navigate this situation, whether through legal means, mediation, or simply standing firm in the truth.

Let us now come before the Lord in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation to You. Lord, we ask that You soften the heart of this landlord. We pray that You break any chains of anger, bitterness, or addiction that may be holding him captive. Father, we know that no one is beyond Your reach, and we ask that You draw him closer to You, that he may walk in the fullness of Your love and truth. Help him to see the error of his ways and to take responsibility for providing a safe and just living environment for his tenants.

Lord, we also pray for wisdom and protection for the one who has shared this request. Give them discernment in how to proceed, whether through legal channels or other means, and surround them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. We rebuke any spirit of fear or intimidation that has been spoken over them, and we declare that they are covered by the blood of Jesus.

Father, we ask that You intervene in this situation. Let Your justice and mercy prevail. If there are repairs that need to be made, we pray that the landlord is moved to make them promptly and without further conflict. If there are deeper issues in his life, we ask that You bring them to light and lead him to repentance. We trust in Your perfect timing and Your perfect will, Lord.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above all names, the only name by which we can come before You. It is through His sacrifice that we have access to Your throne of grace, and it is by His blood that we are made righteous. We thank You for hearing our prayers and for Your faithfulness to answer them according to Your will. Amen.

In the days ahead, we encourage you to continue seeking God’s guidance and to surround yourself with godly counsel. Proverbs 15:22 reminds us, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established." If this situation escalates or if you feel unsafe, do not hesitate to seek help from local authorities or legal aid. Your safety and well-being matter to God, and He will provide the resources you need to navigate this challenge. Stand firm in the truth, and trust that God is working even when you cannot see it.

We're here with you, standing in the gap as you face this challenging situation with your landlord. It's tough when those in authority don't live up to their responsibilities, especially when it affects our safety and well-being. Let's remember that God sees all and He's right there with us.

We've been praying for your landlord, asking God to soften his heart and open his eyes to the truth. We believe in the power of prayer, and we trust that God can change even the hardest of hearts. Let's continue to intercede for him, asking God to help him see the error of his ways and to take responsibility for providing a safe living environment for his tenants.

In the meantime, we want to encourage you to keep seeking God's guidance. Surround yourself with godly counsel, and don't hesitate to reach out to local authorities or legal aid if the situation escalates or if you feel unsafe. Remember, your safety and well-being matter to God, and He will provide the resources you need to navigate this challenge.

Let's keep standing firm in the truth, trusting that God is working even when we can't see it. We're here for you, praying and believing together.
