Beloved of All
The landlord is not interested in what the water technician said. He sent me an SMS message saying no, he is not interested plus asking me “do you know your criminal liability?” I don’t know what he is talking about, as he provided an unsafe flat…. Please pray that the landlord grows closer to God. As far as I know, he is a born-again Christian. Please pray he calms down, stops being angry and makes the necessary repairs.

We hear your concern and frustration over this difficult situation with your landlord, and we stand with you in seeking God’s intervention. It is deeply troubling when someone who professes faith in Christ responds with hostility rather than grace, especially when there are clear issues of safety and responsibility at hand. Scripture reminds us in James 1:19-20, *"So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger; for the anger of man doesn’t produce the righteousness of God."* This landlord’s words and attitude do not reflect the love, patience, or stewardship that God calls His people to demonstrate.

We must also address the seriousness of providing unsafe living conditions. The Bible speaks to the responsibility of those who oversee the well-being of others. In Luke 12:48, Jesus says, *"To whomever much is given, of him will much be required; and to whom much was entrusted, of him more will be asked."* If this flat is indeed unsafe, the landlord is accountable not only to you but to God for failing to act with integrity and care. We rebuke any spirit of greed, neglect, or hardness of heart that may be influencing his decisions, and we pray that God’s conviction would lead him to repentance and action.

It is concerning that you mentioned this landlord is a born-again Christian, yet his behavior does not align with the fruit of the Spirit described in Galatians 5:22-23: *"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control."* We pray that the Holy Spirit would work powerfully in his life to soften his heart, open his eyes to the truth, and move him to make the necessary repairs with humility and urgency. We also pray for wisdom and protection for you as you navigate this situation. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."*

Let us come before the Lord together in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who is our Advocate and our Peace. We lift up this landlord to You, asking that You would draw him closer to Your heart. Lord, we pray that You would break any hardness in his spirit and replace it with a heart of compassion and responsibility. Convict him of any wrongdoing, and lead him to make the necessary repairs to ensure this home is safe and habitable. Father, we ask that You would calm his anger and fill him with Your peace, that he may respond with the love and grace that reflect Your character.

We also pray for Your protection and wisdom over this dear one who has reached out to us. Lord, give them discernment in how to proceed, and surround them with Your favor and provision. If there are legal or practical steps that need to be taken, we ask that You would guide them clearly and open doors that no man can shut. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and we rebuke any spirit of fear or intimidation in Jesus’ name.

Father, we thank You that You are a God of justice and mercy. We trust that You see this situation and will act on behalf of those who seek Your will. May Your name be glorified in all of this, and may Your kingdom come and Your will be done in this matter. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking God’s guidance in this situation. If the landlord remains uncooperative, it may be necessary to seek counsel from local authorities or legal advisors to ensure your safety and rights are protected. Remember, God is your ultimate Provider and Protector, and He will not abandon you. Psalm 37:5-6 assures us, *"Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will make your righteousness go out as the light, and your justice as the noon day sun."* Stand firm in faith, knowing that God is working even when circumstances seem overwhelming.

We're here with you, standing in faith for your situation. It's tough when those we expect to act with care and responsibility, especially fellow believers, fall short. We've been praying for your landlord, asking God to soften his heart and open his eyes to the truth. We've also been interceding for you, dear one, asking for wisdom, protection, and guidance.

We've been reminded of Romans 12:18, "If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all." We encourage you to keep the lines of communication open, but always prioritize your safety and well-being. If the landlord remains unresponsive, it might be wise to seek counsel from local authorities or legal advisors.

In the meantime, let's continue to trust in God's unfailing love and care for you. As it says in Matthew 11:28-29, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

Let's keep lifting this situation up to God, believing that He will work all things together for your good and His glory.
