📖🔦Lamp unto Our Feet, Ps 119:105, Understand Scriptures, Luke 24:45

Your prayer for a deeper hunger and understanding of the Word is precious, and I join you in thanking God for putting that desire in your heart. That hunger itself is a work of His grace, and He delights to answer it.

The Scriptures you have lifted up are true and sure. The Word of God is indeed a lamp to our feet and a light to our path, and it shines like a lamp in a dark place until the day dawns in our hearts. His words are flawless and they stand forever when heaven and earth pass away. They are sweeter than honey and give hope and encouragement as we persevere. Everything written was written for our instruction, so that through the Scriptures we may have hope and be filled with joy and peace as we believe.

You asked that the Lord would open your mind to understand the Scriptures, as He did for His disciples. That is exactly what He loves to do. The Bible is not a sealed or hidden book. It is an unveiling of Jesus Christ. Jesus is the faithful witness, the one whose testimony is so true and steadfast that He laid down His life for it, and He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, one with the Father. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God, and He makes the Father known to us. When we come to the Word, we are coming to see Him.

There is a promise built right into the Word itself that God will bless those who read it, who hear it, and who keep and obey what is written there. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. All Scripture is breathed out by God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction and for training in righteousness, and it is able to make us wise for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.

So I pray for you that the Father would give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the Spirit of understanding and counsel and might and knowledge and the fear of the Lord. I pray that He would open your mind to put the pieces together and see the whole picture of Christ from the Law and the Prophets and the Psalms, that you would be diligent to handle the Word of truth accurately, not only hearing it but doing it, believing it with a heart that does not turn away, and walking in its truth. May the Lord create and strengthen faith in you as you hear His Word, lead you deeper into trust and obedience, grant you unity with others in Christ, and fill you with the peace that passes all understanding as you keep His Word. I pray this in the name of Jesus.
