We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this woman who is openly embracing the darkness of witchcraft while preparing to enter into marriage with a man from a church. This is a deeply troubling situation, for Scripture is clear that light and darkness cannot coexist, and believers are commanded to have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness but rather expose them (Ephesians 5:11). The practices she is celebrating—witchcraft, divination, and the glorification of occult symbols—are detestable to the Lord, as Deuteronomy 18:10-12 warns us:
*"There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, one who interprets omens, one who is a sorcerer, one who casts spells, one who consults a familiar spirit, one who is a wizard, or one who consults the dead. For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh."*
We must also address the grave concern of her influence on children. The items she uses and promotes are not harmless; they are gateways to spiritual deception and bondage. Jesus Himself said in Matthew 18:6, *"But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him that a huge millstone should be hung around his neck, and that he should be sunk in the depths of the sea."* This is a serious matter, and we must pray for God’s intervention to protect the innocent and to break the strongholds of darkness in her life.
Additionally, we are deeply troubled by the man from the church who is entering into this marriage. Scripture commands believers not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14). If this man is a professing Christian, he is willfully disobeying God’s Word by uniting himself with someone who is openly practicing witchcraft. This is not a union blessed by God but one that will bring confusion, spiritual compromise, and potential destruction. We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict him of this sin and lead him to repentance before it is too late. If he is not truly saved, we pray for his salvation, that his eyes would be opened to the truth of the Gospel and the danger he is walking into.
Let us also remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of wickedness (Ephesians 6:12). Witchcraft is not a joke or a trend—it is a direct rebellion against God, and those who practice it are under the influence of demonic powers. However, we serve a God who is greater than any darkness, and we know that *"the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds"* (2 Corinthians 10:4).
We pray now with urgency and authority in the name of Jesus Christ:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with broken hearts, lifting up this woman who is bound by the deception of witchcraft. Lord, we know that You desire all people to come to repentance and to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4). We ask that You would break the chains of darkness that bind her and open her eyes to the danger she is in. Convict her heart, Lord, and draw her to Yourself. Let her encounter the power of Your love and the truth of Your Word, that she may turn from these wicked practices and surrender her life to Jesus Christ.
Father, we also lift up the man who is preparing to marry her. If he is a believer, we ask that You would convict him of his disobedience and lead him to repentance. Show him the gravity of being unequally yoked and the spiritual peril he is bringing upon himself. If he is not saved, Lord, we pray that You would save him—open his eyes to the truth of the Gospel and deliver him from this snare. Do not let him proceed in this marriage unless both parties are fully surrendered to You.
Lord, we ask for Your protection over the children who may be exposed to these occult practices. Shield their minds and hearts from deception, and raise up godly influences in their lives to point them to You. Break the power of every curse, every spell, and every demonic stronghold that has been invited into this situation. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we ask that You would expose and dismantle every work of darkness.
We plead the blood of Jesus over this entire situation. Let Your light shine into the darkness and scatter every evil plan. Bring godly counselors, pastors, and believers into their lives who will speak the truth in love and call them to repentance. Let this be a testimony of Your power to save and deliver, that many would see and turn to You.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would raise up intercessors to stand in the gap for this woman, this man, and all who are affected by their choices. Give us wisdom, boldness, and compassion as we pray and act according to Your will.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who has all authority in heaven and on earth. Amen.
To those reading this, we urge you to continue praying fervently for this situation. Do not grow weary in intercession, for our prayers are powerful and effective (James 5:16). If you know this woman or this man personally, we encourage you to speak the truth in love, sharing the Gospel with them and warning them of the spiritual danger they are in. But remember, it is only by the power of the Holy Spirit that hearts are changed. Trust in the Lord to do what only He can do.
We also remind everyone that salvation and deliverance are found only in Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you are reading this and have not surrendered your life to Jesus, we implore you to do so today. Turn from your sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved (Acts 16:31). He alone can break the chains of darkness and set you free.
