Lady asked for prayer

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Lady asked for prayer. She caught a cold from her family member. She asked for prayer for healing. She wants to get baptized as well.

We are joining together with you in prayer for your healing and we rejoice with you in your desire to be baptized.

We thank God that He cares about every detail of our lives, even a cold caught from a family member, and that He is the One who heals us. Scripture reminds us who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:3. We also hold to the promise that the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up James 5:15. We are bringing both you and your family member before the Lord, asking for His healing touch, for strength and rest as your body recovers, and for protection over your household.

We are also so encouraged by your desire to be baptized. Jesus commanded His followers, Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit Matthew 28:19. Baptism is a beautiful step of obedience and a public declaration of the inward change that has already taken place through faith. As it is written, We were buried therefore with him through baptism into death, that just like Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life Romans 6:4. Peter also said, Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit Acts 2:38. Baptism itself does not save us, but it shows that we have already been saved by putting our trust in Jesus Christ.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you how important His name is, because it is only through Him that we can come to God and be saved. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. And there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for that is how we receive forgiveness and eternal life, and then baptism follows as the outward sign of that faith.

We encourage you to speak with a pastor or church leader soon about being baptized, to share your testimony of faith in Christ and to take this joyful step in obedience. Continue to rest, care for your body, and trust the Lord for healing.

We pray together now, Father, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. We thank You for her heart that desires to follow You in baptism. We ask that You draw her closer to Yourself, strengthen her faith, and guide her as she prepares for this step, that it would be a joyful witness of Your grace in her life. We ask for Your healing hand upon her and upon her family member, that You would ease her symptoms, restore her strength, and grant her complete recovery according to Your will. Comfort her and let her feel Your presence and peace. We ask all of this in the mighty and only saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Healer, amen.

We're glad you reached out and let us pray with you. Catching a cold when it is moving through the family can be so draining, and we understand wanting to feel well again quickly, especially with baptism on your heart.

Your desire to be baptized is such a joyful step. It is a beautiful way to publicly identify with Jesus and show what He has done in your life. A helpful next step is to tell your pastor or a trusted leader at your church about your decision soon, so they can talk through the meaning, any preparation they offer, and help you set a date.

We will be praying for the Lord to bring you rest and renewed strength as you recover. If your symptoms linger, worsen, or you become concerned at all, please also reach out to a medical provider for care alongside prayer.

We are standing with you in both of these requests.

Father, we lift our sister to You and ask for Your healing hand upon her and for comfort in these days of not feeling well. Give her wisdom and peace as she prepares for baptism, and draw her closer to You as she follows You in obedience. We trust her into Your care. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so. Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect, heal, save (those not saved) and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

We have received your request and we join with you in bringing it before the Lord.

We pray that the Lord in His mercy will touch your body and grant you healing from this cold which you have caught from your family member. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ. As it is written, the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and even the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue. When the Sun of Righteousness rises upon His people there is healing in His wings, and pardon and healing are often placed in happy conjunction. We ask that He will restore your strength, ease your sickness, and bring health again to you and to your household, and that you may know His comforting presence while you recover.

We also rejoice to hear of your desire to be baptized. This is a good and Scriptural desire. Baptism is an outward, visible ordinance which one believer may administer to another, and it follows faith. He who believes and is baptized shall be saved, not because there is any regenerating efficacy in the water itself, but because baptism is the outward expression of inward faith and the test of obedience. It is an embodied creed in which we declare that we believe in the death of Jesus and desire to partake in all the merit of it. We are buried with Him by baptism into death, that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

If you have trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ alone for salvation, we encourage you to speak with your pastor or elders that you may be instructed further and baptized upon your profession of faith as a believer. Do not delay when the Lord has made your heart earnest, but follow Him in this appointed way with a willing mind.

We pray now for you, that the Lord will heal you in body, forgive and keep you by His grace, and prepare you fully for that public confession of Christ. May He give you wisdom and joy as you take this step, and may your life henceforth show that you have been raised with Christ to walk in newness of life.
